I especially love seeing that machine-learning model for the object tracker. Not that I use object tracking much, but it's a great sign that Apple is working on AI features behind the scenes. Thanks for the update video Brad! 🙏

Yeah I agree! I'm not sure how often I'm going to want the timeline to scroll, but I ALWAYS want my waveforms to generate so I'll definitely be making use of that hack 😄

Nice! I truly miss auto captions with subtitle templates... it's super annoying to have to export the final project and use another editor for it!

Yeah that is one of the features I’d love to see natively in FCP. There are tools out there like Captionator that work alongside FCP for captions which you might find worthwhile. It’s available in the App Store.

FCP 10.7 is working fine for 2 weeks now, apple learned from the last disaster update. The Timeline features are huger than i thought it would be for me, good job apple. Howewer i really wished the would put a button for enable disable scrolling timeline to the right sid where you can activate magnetic timeline etc..We need a roadmap from apple when and what they will bring to the FCP table regarding AI Features like subtitels, transcription, maybe some kind of audio remix feature like premiere has and of course native AI Rotoscoping. I will stay a little bit more optimistic that fcpx will have its glow up

Yeah, a little button to enable and disable the timeline would be handy. I think the reason they didn’t is because some people might turn it on or off by accident and then it might be annoying to some. And nice little workaround, though, is to create your own shortcut for it. Hopefully this is the start of good things to come from Apple 😄🤞🏼

They removed the original large room and cathedral effects, now when I try to reverb audio it just isn't the same as it used to be. It goes for too long and doesn't just fade out the audio if that makes sense. I updated it without make a seperate file to go back to. Do you kno of a better way to reverb/echo out audio?

@@Brad_West does it ever lag for you I have 8gb ram with an M1 recently heavy edit have become really hard to do 😭

@Anth740 I don’t have any trouble with lagging but the 8GB of RAM could be the problem. Have you tried making proxies to see if that improves performance?

@@Anth740 You just select the files in the browser window, right-click and select Transcode Media. When your proxies are done you click on the dropdown arrow in the Viewer window and choose to view Proxy media only. When you're ready to export, you switch ball to original media 😄

Yeah the M2 should handle the scrolling timeline with ease! I’m using an M1 Max MacBook Pro.

I don’t pay attention to davinci and premiere. What updates do they have over FCP X?

They have some text-editing features, some AI music looping features, magic masks and a few other things that a lot of people in the FCP community would like to see inside FCP. As much as I want some of these things, not having them right now is not enough to push me away from FCP (at the moment). 😄👍🏼
