Great how there are more 48V offerings now. Thanks Brad.

Really like the 48V reviews. I've got the eco-worthy version (wish I had that sweet display!). I use it for my boat for the e-propulsion motor.

Thanks for the teardown! Are the cells insulated between each neighboring cell and the metal case/support? I only see the fibre insulation between the left and right 8s row of cells. There supposed to be fibre board insulation between the cells and the casing as well, the thin blue insulation heat shrink wrap is not sufficient. Are the cells somehow in a compression?

Have you made a video of how you built that battery monitor? I see it in your other videos and it looks great.👍 I’m updating the comment because I found your video for your battery monitor. Thank you for the videos

I have the same battery in UK, but didn't come with the monitor, is that a newer model? Also noticed you mentioend 100a charge/discharge? Mines also only 50a for a 50ah battery.
@BradCagle
@BradCagle 5 күн бұрын
Yeah, there's two different models. The one I have has a stronger BMS, and they market it towards golf cart use. Thanks!
@zGratchGaming
@zGratchGaming 5 күн бұрын
@@BradCagle Thanks for the quick reply! Oh right, so does that mean if I draw more than 50a form the battery I wouldnt' actually damage the cells, but the actual BMS instead?
@BradCagle
@BradCagle 5 күн бұрын
@@zGratchGaming Possibly, but different cell models also have different current handling capabilities. So I'm not sure they may be the same cells between the two battery models, or they may have opted to use higher current capable cells in the golf cart model. Not sure. Thanks!

Is that the Ecoworthy sub-brand? IIRC, some of the documentation might mention mention ecoworthy URLs.

Hmm, not sure. But I just looked in the manual, and I do see some mention of their charger.

I have 2 of those here in Northern Ireland, both without data ports. They work well and I am saving for two more, max. (Please stop saying " Go ahead " so frequently. I am on a mission to try to get Americans from endlessly using those words in conversation). Go ahead and try it.

Wont work, but you can "Go ahead" and try LOL. Yeah, I know the units you have, that's what I originally wanted to test because the price looks great. Maybe they'll send some for testing. Thanks!

What is the best charger for this? Can I use my old one for my Ezgo? Same one that charges my current lead acid batteries?
@bwooters8227
@bwooters8227 13 күн бұрын
No it needs a correct lipo charger. Amazon and ebay sell kits with everything you need charger, reducer if you need 12v for accessories etc. about to order one for my ezgo with navitas 5kw ac motor and 600amp controller

hy, sorry for my english, i m watching your tests from France, very interesting. i expecte this battery will be nice to run with a powerstream ecoflow to inject electicity in the house at the night , in parallel of the grid (with regulation with a power meter shelly 3em compatible). of course , you need a mppt to charge it from PV. do you know this materials , and what do you think about this idea ? would you like to test it ? thx.

Interesting, I've see these home micro inverter systems, but seems mostly for sale in European countries. So you're allowed to plug these in, and inject power to your house, and grid right? They do not allow us to do this in the US :( well we can but, it is way harder as it needs approval, inspection, special approved equipment, regulations, etc.... Oh and for sure we cannot just plug it in to an outlet. Would be awesome if we were allowed to use this kind of powerstream system. Thanks!
@jean-philippemeunier8989
@jean-philippemeunier8989 2 ай бұрын
@@BradCagle @BradCagle this is it. And we are allowed to plug it into outlet. But there is a lot of restrictions as well. There is a mode in which the microinverter inject only what the house use, and if not enought, the grid supply. For that, you need the shelly 3em to measure the consumption on the grid. Sorry that it is more complicated in US to use that kind of système.

also, this battery with monitor display is not available in France. hope it will be soon . we have the one without the screen, but screen is very usefull to help checking the batterie and all cells.

Yes, the screen is very nice. I'm curious does the one without the screen have BlueTooth? I need to test these, the price looks really attractive here in the US. Thanks!

@@BradCagle the one that is available in France from Amazon have no screen, no BT. It is cheap (about 500€ ), but no monitoring at all is not good. How much does this one (with screen) cost in US ?

Charge / discharge 100A for a 50Ah battery . Something is off. On Amazon UK this as different MAXes (50A)

There seems to be two versions. One with the smart BMS that seems to be capable of higher current, and the other one you're mentioning perhaps. BTW you can have over 1C rate charge/discharge, just depends on the cells used, BMS, etc.. Thanks
