OK now, Brad! This one floored me, starting with Paul Harvey's part of the story. There were so many interesting things in this one. If I understood you correctly, there will be a future video about Tesla? Wow! I sure hope so! This man was WAY ahead of the rest!!!! Thank you, Brad. Let's go!

I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I'm a huge fan of inventors and especially of Tesla. Researching him is just amazing. I'm sure I'll do a future video on Tesla. I don't think I have a Paul Harvey about him, but I may just create it myself. :)

Great episode Brad! Good history lesson as always. The minds that came out of Menlo Park were impressive indeed. Thanks for sharing another fantastic Paul Harvey story along with your wonderful commentary. As always God bless you and your family. Thanks for everything you do!

I'm always fascinated to read about Edison and the other inventors of that era. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode. God bless you too, my friend. :)

How many of the names do we know of the people who didn't get the credit they deserved (the people who invented things while working for Edison)?
@BradDison Жыл бұрын
That's a great question which should be researched. I wrote an article two or three years ago about the invention of stringed Christmas lights by one of his engineers. It was very interesting. I need to read my own work again. hahaha. :)

@@BradDison Is there a link?
@BradDison Жыл бұрын
@@newshodgepodge6329 I published it in a book of articles. I'm a syndicated author of a column similar to Mr. Harvey's "The Rest of the Story." My column and book are called "Remember This? Real stories...about Real People...with a Twist." Let me see if I can find a link for that single article. :)

There were some things he didn't invent, he just improved them. It's hard to tell which he invented, and which he improved because he did so many things. Like the light bulb, it was invented by British inventor Humphry Davy, I think, but Edison made it a lot better. Thank you for the video, and the time you and your team took to put it together.
@BradDison Жыл бұрын
You're right. He invented as well as improved other inventions. He was brilliant. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, Steven. :)

Oh my gosh, that cricket was sooooo loud. On my most recent video, I had to keep stopping because the cricket was so loud. hahaha. I'm glad you enjoyed it, albeit the crazy loud cricket. hahaha :)

I thought maybe it thought it was a background singer while you were reporting! 😂 Thank you for this report, packed with so much info; a window into that time in history.

Edison was also a thief, copying technology and even motion pictures then rushing them to market before the real inventors could do so. One notable example was the first science fiction film, Melies' "Voyage to the Moon" -- a theft noted in the final episode of the Tom Hanks series "From the Earth to the Moon" about 25 years ago.
@BradDison11 ай бұрын
He certainly was a shady character. I didn't know that about 'Voyage to the Moon." I'll have to look into that. I've read about lots of patents and inventions that he purportedly stole. :)

Terrible background noise

Some of these episodes have terrible background noise. Some of them are a few decades old. It’s better to have them with noise than not at all. :)
