This season is a return to the horror aspect. Much like S1. Can't wait to see you react to it. I was so sure Chrissy was about to join the main cast with how much focus they were giving her. Side note, the moment of El screaming at Angela without her powers gave me so much secondhand embarrassment that I almost paused the episode when I first saw it. Also, Mike was talking all last season about how they were starting to outgrow D&D when Will wanted to play. Then he joins a club as soon as Will leaves. Hate to see it. Will would love a club about D&D.

Not me sitting here like "please tell me he's gonna love Eddie from the start, please". I've seen some reaction videos where people said he's so weird and he's a freak etc and I was immediately like "just say you would've bullied me in highschool". I relate to Eddie so much and I just adore the fact that he made a group full off outcasts and bullied kids so they can all have some friends and play dnd together. I remember someone saying that he's creepy when he told Dustin and Mike to find some new sheeps and I don't get it at all, he's literally looking for first year students who are bullied or don't have any friends to join them. I wish someone did it when I was in school and asked me to join their group of weirdos

I have found that people don’t realize how much dungeons & dragons can mean to people. It can mean just as much as a sports game can to some people. The sense of community it creates, the emotional investment in the characters, and how you’re able to explore important themes and learn about different perspectives and further your sense of self. Of course D&D is not something everyone likes but I think it’s important to be respectful of how important it can be for people, especially for outcasts and teens who are discovering themselves. I’m pretty sure when Mike said “why don’t you just ask your coach to move the game” he was being sarcastic. Basically using it as a metaphor, sating that it would be just as hard to get Eddie to move the session as it would be to get the coach to move the game. Whether or not that’s true is debatable, but we definitely know people were incredibly invested in the session. Scheduling D&D is very difficult and judging by people’s reactions, it likely would have taken quite a while before they could reschedule. Lucas made a commitment to play basketball just as he made a commitment to be in the D&D party. And basketball isn’t just a metaphor, but an actual means for Lucas to change social status from a weirdo to popular. In Lucas’s want to change we can see he is willing to sacrifice parts of his sense of self, and his relationship with his friends, as many people do. I am in no way saying that this is a bad thing for Lucas to want to do, people change. But you can see his friends are upset because they feel like he’s leaving them. And by Lucas being willing to sacrifice his “weirdness” to be popular, they might feel that in a sense that he’s betraying something at the core of their identities being out casts. Lucas definitely has a right to be able to change to what he wants to be, but his friends also have a right to feel upset in losing a friend. Especially when they feel like that friend is betraying his true self. People can definitely play basketball and D&D, but in this particular narrative Lucas is presented with a choice. He cannot do both, because narratively in this instance basketball ball and D&D represent a binary choice in who Lucas wants to be, and it is up to Lucas to make that choice. D&D for me has been a big help in not feeling alone and being able to channel my creativity especially in a group setting. It has also even helped me with expressing and understanding my queerness, especially my gender. And It has helped me understand other people’s perspectives and furthered my understanding of myself. And helped me with my battle against social and general anxiety. People tend to write D&D off as just a childish weird game but it’s not that. It means so much more to a lot of people. D&D has gotten me through a lot of very difficult times in my life, it felt like just a positive creative thing I could commit myself to and feel like I’m not alone. I feel very deeply for the choice Lucas is forced into, it sucks. But unfortunately it’s an all to real choice many people have to make. All I’m saying is you definitely don’t have to like D&D, I just feel people should try to be respectful of how much it can mean to people and why. Anyway sorry for the essay of a comment. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read all of it, I appreciate you.

You will be scared, emotional and crying, while also being at the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next! Interesting fact, the scene where Eddie and Chrissy meet in the woods was shot first, and after filming it, the Duffer Bros regretted having to kill her character off, because the actors displayed so much chemistry and could see the potential of them being a couple!
