All these movies are terrific! I was a junior in college when this one came out. I spotted the killer immediately! The news reporter was Laura Metcalfe, an award winning actress from the hit TV show Roseanne. No way they were getting someone of that caliber to play a bit role like a nerdy reporter. AND the 1st song in the movie is D’Angelo covering a classic PRINCE song, “She’s Always In My Hair” which got me thinking the killer was a woman this go around. And there you have it. Honestly, I always yell for Cici to run out the door. Either right away or after she's set the alarm so she sets it off. I mean, she's supposed to be sober sister for the night, why aren't her keys handy so she'd just be able to grab them easily on her way out? But either way, open that door, set off the alarm and run like hell. Still mad about that one too all these years later, lol. Man wished I seen you react to that Randy/Dewey suspect scene. I LOVED THEIR TEAM UP. But literally Randy dying KILLED my love for this franchise. He had by far the best character and he knew the rules. He was the self aware character and the franchise will have trouble trying to bring the rules for future sequels without Randy. He was the lungs of the franchise. His death is the reason I didn't care much for the sequels after :( . The fans at the time really disliked that idea too because he was a fan favorite and still had so much potential. I'm a writer myself, and the one thing you never do as a writer, is kill a fan favorite so early on in the franchise. This was the series biggest mistake. I mean Sidney's cool, Dewey's cool but I didn't care much for Gale tbh. Randy was the personality. The rule guy. The geek. The blue collar of the whole group. This was the only bad thing about the movie, other than that Scream 2 is great. Dewey can survive being stabbed so many times but Randy can't -_-.

Gale literally had the best development ever. Also, Dewey did just have to survive one stab in Scream & three in this one (1 that was the same of the old one, another that wasn’t that deep and another that was deep but fortunately it wasn’t in an important place). Cotton also tried to save him so he probably press something to his wounds. On the other hand Randy was stabbed 12 times to say at least
