I absolutely love this blade. I had never carried a fixed blade but this one is an example of perfection. Great edc.

D's knives just posted a sale video, and he has a couple Guardians for a very reasonable price! If you really want one, I'd check him out my brother.

I just ordered the sheepsfoot version with carbon fiber handles and cruwear. I cannot wait for it to come, the size is exactly what I’ve been looking for in an EDC fixed blade!

Bradford has the flat and 3D scales available for the Guardian 3 and each has their place. I carry mine on the left at 10 o’clock and retrievable with either hand.

Man, I have lusted after a G3 for a long time. I just love the lines and the perceived utility of an EDC fixed blade. But I’ve just never pulled the trigger for some reason. Just FYI, Bradford is runnin a sale this weekend on the G3 Wharnnies. 30% off I believe. It’s so tempting!!! Haha.

G-wood is layered g10 and laminated wood. Some scale makers also throw in laminated fiberglass but not sure if Bradford's scales have fiberglass in them. They still do the slab style scales also, but the 3d scales are so much more comfortable in hand. My G3S was actually the knife that got me more into the idea of EDCing a fixed blade. They do have knife options using 3V occasionally. So if you really like it but want a more fixed blade steel, that could be an option.

I keep editing my comment because I like to make observations as the video is playing. Lol. I knew you were going to like the knife though. Coming from a guy that was never into the idea of EDCing a fixed blade, now I carry one almost every day. I have several that I rotate through of different sizes. None too big. But if you really like the Guardian 3, also check out the Ranier Knives Fastpak. I believe it's Bradford's brother.

When edc'ing a fixed blade, I prefer a horizontal carry set up for cross draw, which the Gaurdian 3 series does well. I'll be interested in seeing how you fare with this week challenge. I've been seriously considering buying one of the DLT exclusive Cruwear versions. I'm kind of a Cruwear fan..great all around steel. Both the Cruwear and 3V versions would probably hold up fine for outdoor use. I have some pretty thinly ground Bark Rivers in 3V that I've put through some pretty serious use, including batoning and they've held up fine.

Dude same.

DLT has them in 3v and Cruwear if you decide you want a more woods capable version.

GP Knifes has this in 3v full flat grind. I like that combo but it’s also white G-10. Weird. Looking forward to your final.

I got the DLT exclusive sheepsfoot with cruwear and I'm LOVING it. It's like Voxnaes made a fixed blade.

I'm looking forward to your thoughts after a week of carrying it. I think you'll dig it. I have disproportionately large hands so I went with the 3.5 in M390 and I loved it. I regret to this day that I traded it lol. Great video Jake!

I love the Guardian 3. It's a great little knife! I bought mine before the started using the M390, so I paid much closer to the $100 mark. Looking at the blade, it looks like is N690. It's held up very well using it for wood carving, box cutting and food prep. I'm curious to see what you think about it after a week. I don't usually EDC it, but get it out for specific tasks or as a small camping knife.

You’re missing out on the Sebenza, and on the socom elite. My XHP socom is my baby. Only thing I carry nearly as much is my Sebenza 31. You should do a vid on the microtech ludt, if you haven’t.
@beardedgear4 жыл бұрын
I already have, the Sebenza I tried was the 21, but I don’t have any reason to believe I’ll really like the 31 any better 🤣
@alexeski41094 жыл бұрын
Bearded Gear I don’t like the hole on the 21 so I never had any before the 31 came out, actually. I’m a more recent convert, I guess. I have the plain Jane 31 small and large. When you get them, you gotta get rid of the convex grind a bit imo, it comes a little too convex for me. I take it down just a bit on a fine stone and strop. The hollow grind is sweet, though. From what I understand, I never owned a 21 but handled them, you can flick the 31 out a bit better and the clip is angled a bit better to not affect the lockbar, so it’s easier to disengage. That said, they are expensive so I get it

Can’t carry a fixed blade where you had it because I typically carry my Glock there .
@beardedgear4 жыл бұрын
Yeah the glock definitely takes priority if you carry appendix 👍🏻
