I always said music from the 60's thru early 90's is the main reason why young people, generally speaking, DID NOT walk around with scowls on our faces, trying to look and act hard. EVEN IF WE WERE HARD, most the time you would't know it by looking at us. The music was optimistic and so were we, so we generally walked around happy, even if our circumstances were poor.

I can barely put into words how happy it makes me that music has improved your lives. I've been watching your reactions for so long, and we all know that Lex has an instinctive, visceral feel for music while Brad was always more reserved and less emotional, sometimes missing the forest (the melodies and rhythms and harmonies) for the trees (the lyrics), so the idea that emotion has snuck its way into Brad's reactions is beautiful (and there's that word again).

I really enjoyed this conversation. The entire reason I watch reactors is to see how a song affects someone the first time they hear it. Even more, how music affects someone's outlook on life after listening to a large variety of music. Frank Zappa once said "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." I believe variety is essential in life. I don't eat the same food every day. I don't watch the same type of movies every day and I certainly don't listen to the same music every day. I love how music and art has transformed Brad into a very fine entertainer. Brad, I enjoyed how you were talking about not always being in a great mood, but then having to stream. As a long time club DJ, I loved my job because no matter how crappy of a day I had in the outside world, I could leave that at the door and do my job. Once I got into an environment that I was in control of, everything was great. I guess that's one of the perks of being an entertainer. It was wonderful watching you two sit down and talk about this. Looking forward to more vlogs like this!

Brad said it so precisely. Negativity judging music or anything else that’s outside of the cultural norm that we have grown up with is a human trait. That’s the part of your mind that gets opened up after having more diverse life experience. Music is a great doorway to that because all cultures and peoples have it as part of their existence.

It’s like looking forward to your favorite TV show. Somebody once said the key to being happy in life is having things to look forward to, and I’m sure many of us here would agree you guys have given us that!… Quick note on judging genres of music and yeah, it doesn’t have to be just based on race… I grew up, loving Zeppelin and hard rock. Besides Zeppelin, there was Queen and Pink Floyd and Deep purple and Sabbath, etc. etc. And I lived that music in the 70s as it was being released and went to so many shows… But I hated Southern rock! It did not fit in my genre at all. Couldn’t stand Lynyrd Skynyrd… Or the Outlaws or Charlie Daniels or Marshall Tucker, etc.… How close minded and stupid, I could’ve seen Skynyrd at their peak and I didn’t because of my stubborn attitude. But I love that stuff now! Stubborn stupidity😲… Thanks for everything Brad and Lex!
