If you listen to the original album version the track starts with a guy driving and listening to a different KISS song and ends with the songs of a car crashing. When it comes to recording music, new Technology (computer aided) doesn't mean anything. Bands back in the day had to master their instruments so they weren't wasting time and money in the very expensive studio. You couldn't just cut and paste garbage together digitally like they do with so many "Artists". It's 95% the skill of the musicians. Now anyone can record in their bedroom easily and with low cost. While that has allowed some great artists to get exposure, it's also spawned a lot of people with no passion making and releasing music with little thought or effort put into it. When you don't have to actually create music with an instrument, and you can just sample things other people already created to make your own 'music', you aren't going to get good music most of the time. The person making it isn't even bothered enough to learn how to play the instrument. They just cut and paste tracks together on a computer and that is why most new music sounds the same, because it is all cut and paste from a specific pool of existing music and samples.
@carlgibbons57773 жыл бұрын
@@hazepheno925 Yep. Today's music has very little soul. Where are the artists today that want to spend tens of thousands of practice hours to master an instrument? Technology had made people lazy and has sucked the soul out of the music. More image than talent these days.
@russellhamilton28773 жыл бұрын
@@hazepheno925 Very true. I especially hate it when you get musicians who have an ounce of talent still using backing tracks, especially drums, fir their recordings. With today's global reach via the internet and social media, how hard is it to reach out to other musicians (if you don't know any locally or you live in complete isolation somewhere on this planet) and ask them if they would like to contribute to your creation. It would sound more organic and others listening to it would appreciate the fact that you care enough to create something genuine rather than plugging into something video game. If you have the talent then please don't waste it on cheap fillers.

When he sings, "I hear my song...", I don't think he means he's hearing his own song and getting off on it. I believe he means he's hearing a favorite song that's playing on the radio. He's singing in the first person, but I believe he's not singing about himself. The singer is referencing an incident. Probably writing by using "you" or "he" instead of "I" didn't work as well. He might have written in "I" for rhyming reasons, or he just wanted to put himself in that person's shoes.

Subsequently, he has some of my favorite guitar solos in history throughout different KISS songs and his own solo performances.

He’s saying he hears his favorite song on the radio. But I’ve been listening to Kiss my entire life. Lol. And their egos may lead you to believe they’d be talking about their own music. KISS ARMY THO BABY!!!!

"Detroit Rock City" is a song by the American hard rock group Kiss, released on their 1976 album Destroyer. The song was written by Paul Stanley and producer Bob Ezrin. This song is an example of a very popular song that didn't make the music charts, well except for Detroit. I love it.

I’d recommend you listen to the studio album version and let it play into the next song, it’s about a kiss fan going to a kiss concert and crashing on the way, killing him, I think when he says “I hear my song on the radio” it’s in the point of view of the kiss fan, it’s dedicated to him, he’s talking about getting drunk and high and speeding and crashing, dark but lit ass song

Awesome melodic solo that gets turned up when the 2nd guitar kicks in……I love double guitar harmonies……Judas Priest has some goods songs with double harmonies….”Hotel California” by the Eagles is a great double guitar harmony solo if you haven’t reacted to it…..I think you may have

You can't go through Rock history without having KISS. They have the KISS Army. Gene Simmons is a marketing genius. Great reaction

Musically the 70s Rock decade was really something. 1972 Machine Head, 1973 Dark Side of the Moon, 1978 Van Halen Erupted, 1979 Pink Floyd The Wall. Cal Jam I & II. I made it to Cal Jam II and The Wall. Kiss exploded literally on stage and with the release of Kiss Alive I in 1975. The Kiss Destroyer studio album was a successful and slick follow up to the live album. Destroyer even included a hit song that was a ballad with piano !!!!! Shock and awe. Kiss had their niche and it worked $.

He's not talking about hearing his own song, he's talking about his jam. He hears his favorite jam and it picks him up

This is the the appropriate song to hear as an intro to KISS. I can't think of a better one. Best thing in the world was seeing this live in Cobo Arena, Detroit! I thought the roof would come down.

KISS was the first concert I ever went to in 1977 when I was 5 for the Destroyer tour this song is from, and KISS was my last concert in 2000 which was the last tour of the original lineup. Ace Frehley is my hero, and the reason I started learning guitar at age 5.

Great reaction, Kiss use to be my favorite band for years and is still very high on my list, also Kiss was my first ever concert in 2004 in Detroit Would like more Kiss Reactions Also this song is from 1976 And they have multiple different sounds because for most of their songs Paul Stanley (the singer in this one and the Rhythm Guitarist) or Gene Simmons(Bassist) are the lead singer, but they do have other songs where Ace Frehley(Lead Guitarist) and Peter Criss(Drummer) are the lead singer as well

This was written about a fan who died on the way to one of their concerts

Great reaction you 2. This is one of my favorite KISS songs. I believe it's about a dude pre-partying and then driving drunk heading to a KISS show that he never gets to because he is killed in a car crash. On the studio version you hear the crash at the end of the song. The ACE solo reminds me of a Clint Eastwood/Spaghetti western and I love it. My DAD bought me Destroyer and 2 other KISS records ("Rock and Roll Over" and "Double Platinum") for my 7th birthday back in 1978. I was also a member of the KISS ARMY back then too. \m/\m/

If your great Grandma is still alive now, chances are she might indeed bop to this song. And back when this song came out it was "my song".

Love KISS or hate them, no one put on a more dazzling rock show than these legends. I know all good things must end, but I miss them already😥

Just saw them Sep 9 in Irvine CA (outdoor venue). Just before the encore, Paul says, we have to cut it short because a storm is coming. Half way through the first encore song Rock N Roll All Nite, thunder, lightening and pouring rain came down. So they only did the one song for the encore. It was epic!

The intro on the album has him taking off in his car jamming Rock n Roll all night. If I was a bad ass rock star slaying it in the 70s, I would get lit to my own song too!!

I'm not a huge Kiss fan but I did go to one of their concerts once. Best concert I've ever been too.
