@@mavericksabillon8149 it took a lot of introspection and being honest with myself about the effects it was having on my life, so I replaced my bad habits with more positive 1s for instance instead of sitting at my kitchen table drinking I would take a long walk in nature and use that time to reinforce my thoughts on been sober filling your idel time with hobbies especially exercise will help a lot It was hard at the start I wouldn't lie, because the inner voice would try and tempt you into the old pattern of behaviour but I just keep resisting and moved forward everytime. my life has improved relationships sleep general attitude to the world is much healthier, friends did test me but I was honest and told them how destructive it was and they supported my decision also loosing my brother at 39 as a result of alcohol addiction reinforced my decision even more. Best of luck with your journey i wish you all the best try get as much support as possible take care.

That's a professional interviewer giving the interviewee the chance to clear up all the doubters questions so it's clear. As a person in the public eye they're under a lot of scrutiny. It's nice to be able to clear it up quickly with a host asking it all. Idk w/ this one but a lot of comments seem to assume she's attacking him as if she's not buying it.

Im 36 been sober for 2 years im in the phase where all so called friends are gone i can think clear and realized i dont even like those people i wish them well. Ita pretty lonely but the mental clarity is night and day. It gets lonely at times but the only way to move is onward and upward. I drank and did so many drugs that my liver and kidneys were shutting down around my 34th Bday. If i kept that path i would of dies a terrible death. Gladly all systems are back to operating function. Im in the best shape of my life... quitting all that poision makes you realise what other things are also horrible for you. Eating good and simple foods such as organic meat and vegetables and staying away from processed foods will clean and rebuild your body. Its amazing how you have the power to flip the script. Its not great now but im sure it will be only one way to go from the bottom if you learn from your mistakes. Any one struggling can break those chains that are holding you back

@@soulprosperitypioneerslook up how to tell the difference. All it took for me to quit was my wife saying to me one morning, as i watched the sun rise in tears like what was normal for me then, I’m sorry that you have to do this and wish I could take away whatever caused this from your times in war. I don’t want you to die and will do anything to help you quit and move forward. I stopped drinking that morning. I started drinking around 14 and I can tell that it was a problem later on when at least once a month I’d get told I was obnoxious and not wanting me around if I continue. Which I did. Later years were to numb my pain and to help me not dream at night. I tried to get drunk a few times in the past 15 years but can’t because I don’t want that life again. Was I a hard drinker or an alcoholic? Anyway, congratulations on your 25 years and counting being sober!

@@j.a.c3813well addiction is a human condition, every decision in life from physical, spiritual to emotional dependencies. Broaden the scope to things that won’t drain your life & experience. Alcohol can be good, weed can be so much better but it will leave you narrowing your options for experience if it becomes overly habitual. Never make something a habit/addiction that can drain energy like that & if you’re someone who cannot stop, don’t even try. But addiction is something natural. We are all addicted to our daily habits & life.

I can never understand when people throw around that word in a context like this. They do something with their lives to make them better and then they’re „grateful”. What does that even mean? You can be grateful for a gift, not for something that you got done. Who are you grateful to? You did that. You made the first step and made the change. It’s all on you. Don’t sell yourself short. I'm 27 and I've been drinking on average as little(or much) as a pint for the last four years. Finding myself in a house that once used to be filled with family and laughter has, in the course of the last couple of years, driven me to seek comfort and develop an appetite for reminiscences from alcohol. I understand that some people have it worse and they still manage to make the best out of their circumstances, and in light of the severity of their journey, it's silly of me to complain about my struggles as they are. Anyway, I don't know if there's a point I'm trying to make here but I can certainly say that when I think hard, I can somewhat remember what my idea of happiness constituted before I took to drinking. I'm quitting alcohol in hopes of indulging in all those self-preserving activities from which I've been absent so long. I don't want to feel ever again the overwhelming sense of impending doom and loneliness and guilt brought on by too many terrible episodes of hangover.

Love you man I stopped at 25 and I’m 62 no drinking don’t need it. I did everything possibly I could live a healthy good life still has a challenges but a drink will never change anything. Proud of you BRADLEY you make a difference God’s not interested in our ability he’s interested in our availability to other people, God bless

Good for you bradley!!! Takes a metric shot ton of courage to admit to yourself, and the world about your addiction! You not only faced those demons and overcame them, but this could be tje very video that could help someone who's in tje grasp of theor addictions!!

Not even wine? Just because it’s masquerades as a fine product (which it is tbf) it’s still a ruthless drug. I’ve been absolutely hammered off red wine, it’s powerful stuff

Stopped at 29 also, it's been a year and a half.I was not an alcoholic but I did self-medicate throughout my life. Ever since I stopped getting shitfaced I touched the stuff once or twice, a tiny shot at my buddie's birthday party. What felt amazing was the realisation that I didn't crave it anymore. I did not have to convince myself or battle any urges, I just didn't care for a single drop of alcohol. And that felt so empowering. God bless therapy and yoga.

I come from a family of alcoholics. While serving active duty as a U.S. Marine, I was like many guys in that during the week it was all business, but every weekend consisted of binge drinking. Not blaming this on the Corps, but it’s a big part of our culture. Once I left active, my drinking reduced dramatically. Now, I’m always the sober friend who’s more than happy to be the DD.
