The mystery song Paul’s talking about is definitely “Superstar Punani” one of my all time favorites, I remember when it came out on the Second hand smoke record and being blown away, you could tell it was from the Paul Leary Sessions as it’s production is far superior then the rest of the early recordings and demos that are on that record… that song should’ve been on the S/T Record.

Yeah that and what is really going wrong, idk why they didn’t make the cut but also put two versions of what I got on there. Sublime always had a ton of songs on their CDs and those two def had a place

Paul’s stories about Sublime sound like people’s stories of the Butthole Surfers.

Great flow to the podcast. You guys asked all the same questions I was wondering. I love Paul's self-effacing demeanor. So humble and so polite. Looking forward to the next podcast. BTW... did Paul ever remember that song's name he mentioned in the podcast?

so shocking I'm sure when peeps mention Pepper as a climax for the Surfers' saga when that was most def at the bottom & near the drain ... Butthole Surfers had quite a lengthy and ever changing career, and taught every band that is considered "influential" and "ground-breaking" throughout the years what 'independent' and unique really means. Know your history & truly chek your roots, kids.

Commercial pinnacle is often inverse of creative pinnacle.
