That run reminded me of how when I first started KSP, I thought "*scoff* Tutorials? hell no, I've watched like three Matt Lowne videos, that is insulting towards my 4,000 IQ." and I only used solid rocket boosters. I almost got to the Mun with them alone. Then, I was watching someone play KSP and they said "hold shift to use the liquid fuel engines' and I was exstatic. Except, I didn't know how to turn them off, as I turned the video off immediately and started up KSP... Turned out lovely, as you'd guess. Just lovely.

We need to do something like this IRL, using the best planes and pilots from all around the world. It'd be a neat peacetime activity for all the Air Forces, with some healthy competition between countries. Plus, races are very good motivators to built technology to go FAST, so think of how much tech will get developed from doing this. ESPECIALLY if the Military gets behind it.

I second this. We already have air races, but they're pretty restrictive and also aren't that popular. We need new air races!

This is essentially the concept of F1. I love the idea of applying it to an air race, you add another dimension to the challenge! The problems would be money and safety. The driver walks away from the majority of crashes in Formula One. If you push the limits in a low altitude air race, you likely won't be walking away.

now, i dont have braking ground dlc. but i have an idea, why not use the motors to control the pitch of the wings, when i did this and im sure when you all did this you loose speed becasue of the wings not pointing into the wind when turning, sometimes almost parallel. and i know that the only way to turn quickly is using the wings pointing away-ish from the wind, maybe use the motors to just turn the wings slightly so it reduces drag when turnning? has annyone done this?
