General rule of thumb at a Frankie Boyle concert..... don't sit anywhere near the front. The first time I watched this I was ridiculously stoned. By the end of it there was no sound coming out of my mouth as I laughed, I was just convulsing with tears running down my face. I love your banter at the beginning. It's the only channel I watch where I don't skip the chatter at the start.

When the guy say's he's 'on the broo' - It is actually spelt 'on the buroo' - which means in receipt of social welfare or unemployment benefits (colloquially 'on the dole' in England). "Buroo" is colloquial slang for "bureau," a term for the Labour Exchange, the source for welfare payments and used in Scotland. So that's why the audience 'booed', because he's getting money from the state but can afford to go out in the evening to the theatre!

9:47 I guess you know of 'The Troubles' in Northern Ireland, predominantly though obviously not limited to Belfast. Anyway, issues have been very recurrent (though not to any where near the same extent, but still very well known) in Glasgow. Basically Protestant/Union vs Catholic/Republican. I'm not Scottish so I don't know the full picture. But from what I gather it mostly or even totally centers on likely a small contingent of supporters of the two rival football teams in Glasgow, Rangers (Protestant/Unionist) and Celtic (Catholic/Republican). The Joke was in the fact that clearly the Scott's (particularly those in Glasgow, perhaps) do know a little about sectarianism! Just a hunch, but based upon what I've learned of the history of The British Isles, it wouldn't surprise me if this 'sectarianism' was prevalent to some extent throughout Scotland to this day, but I can't know that.

A Little explainer: - Religous problems in Belfast is the Catholic Nationalists vs the Protestant Unionists - a conflict which has been going on off and on for centuries - and which now impacts certain areas in scotland aswell. -'The Bru' means you are looking for work and claiming unemployment benefits. it comes from the word 'bureau' as in "labour bureau".
