Lyrics:
Sittin' on a bench at West Town Mall
He sat down in his overalls and asked me
You waitin' on a woman
I nodded yeah and said how 'bout you
He said son since nineteen fifty-two I've been
Waitin' on a woman
When I picked her up for our first date
I told her I'd be there at eight
And she came down the stairs at eight-thirty
She said I'm sorry that I took so long
Didn't like a thing that I tried on
But let me tell you son she sure looked pretty
Yeah she'll take her time but I don't mind
Waitin' on a woman

My grandpa got off that bench today. His wait was over. My grandma died in her sleep last night at the age of 100. She had said for years that she was ready to be with him... but she made him wait. Now God is finished with her here on earth and the wait is over. I love and miss you both, Grandpa and Grandma.

crimdell what a beautiful story. My grandmother lived to be 104. She always said "I don't know why God took Will so early & left me here alone". He was 87 when he passed but it was 16 years before her. I know he waited on her there patiently until she it was her time.

I actually didn't know that Andy Griffith was in this video.....I love Brad Paisley, he reminds me so much of my husband that died in 2002...at just 48 yrs old. I want more than anything to be with him......but I know I've got to wait....I'm not done here yet, and I don't know why my kids are being so cruel, but they are....plz if you're reading this and you've had a falling out with your mom due to your dad's death (they didn't get enough inheritance.....each got 30K....so their idea was to withhold the grandkids. I have grandkids I've never held.....) PLZ call her up and ask to see her. There's nothing worth being that mean. (and yes, I've msg my kids, and been ignored.)

Well, today would have been his birthday and he's been gone 4 years. I hope he's found a bench and is waiting on me. I guess God isn't finished with me yet. My Granny spoke of how she would have this regular dream of her husband who died in 2004, sitting on a park bench, and he said 'Why don't you come and sit with me?' But she hesitated and didn't. She couldn't figure out why she never went... My mum thought maybe if she did she would have passed over... last week she died and I'd like to think she finally sat down beside him.

Today in my International Development class we talked about why men die younger then woman. My professor claimed it was genetics but I don't believe this to be true. I believe that we wait our entire lives for the woman of our dreams so it would only make sense for us to die earlier so that we can wait outside the gates of heaven one more time for the one we love. So I started thinking of this song and how true it really is.

It's because the country music of today is about real life. We wouldn't have music like this now if it wasn't for "Southern Rock" bands from the mid 70s n early 80s. Skynard, Creedance, Charlie Daniels Band and, my personal favorite, ZZ Top, even though they were more of a rock/blues band, did a lot back then to give us todays country music. Hank Jr. Waylon, Chris and Johnny as well as many more can also take credit for todays country music

It takes time to find love and it takes time to find the right one. Marriage can be a gift as long as two people work hard at it. If one wants to know if they are in love, well ask yourself this: would I be willing to sacrifice my own life for this person even if it means your existence on this Earth is no more!!!!! If your answer is yes then I would say you are in love. If your answer is no, well then just move on

We're still together and completely in love with each other. My advice, always wait for a woman, it'll change your life! Sittin' on a bench at West Town Mall He sat down in his overalls and asked me You waitin' on a woman I nodded yeah and said how 'bout you He said son since nineteen fifty-two I've been Waitin' on a woman When I picked her up for our first date I told her I'd be there at eight And she came down the stairs at eight-thirty She said I'm sorry that I took so long Didn't like a thing that I tried on But let me tell you son she sure looked pretty Yeah she'll take her time but I don't mind Waitin' on a woman He said the wedding took a year to plan You talk about an anxious man, I was nervous Waitin' on a woman And then he nudged my arm like old men do And said, I'll say this about the honeymoon, it was worth it Waitin' on a woman And I don't guess we've been anywhere She hasn't made us late I swear Sometimes she does it just 'cause she can do it Boy it's just a fact of life It'll be the same with your young wife Might as well go on and get used to it She'll take her time 'cause you don't mind Waitin' on a woman I've read somewhere statistics show The man's always the first to go And that makes sense 'cause I know she won't be ready So when it finally comes my time And I get to the other side I'll find myself a bench, if they've got any I hope she takes her time, 'cause I don't mind Waitin' on a woman Honey, take your time, 'cause I don't mind Waitin' on a woman

Paisley is definitely very talented, but I think that alot of people are driven away by the autotune, and production of his songs. People loved (and still love) old country for its imperfections, but modern day country tries too hard to cookie-cutter perfect; that's why there isn't too much variety in modern country, at least when its compared to the variety in old country. Hope that makes sense.

This song is soooo true. Been married to the same woman for 40 years and we dated for 2. If I was going somewhere with her or she with me, I can probably count on one hand how many times we have been on time. I make a joke among friends, and have told her if she leaves before me, the day of her funeral, at the time is scheduled to start I am going to get up and say that she has never been on time and it just wouldn't be right for her to be on time for her last appointment on earth so she will be here in 10 minutes. I say all this in a joking way, and with LOVE because if I could, I would do it all over again.

This was my mom and dads song. He’s waiting on his bench. Has been since 2014. My daughter is named paisley after brad paisley, he is who I grew up on. The last concert I went to with my dad. The first concert I went to with my mom. My dad would turn this song up and they laugh with each other because he was always waiting on his women. His song he didn’t have to be played at his funeral. Because he took in my moms son and adopted us, saved us from a horrible situation. We miss him everyday and brad paisley still continues to be a part of our family with his songs. this song is so beautiful and sweet! it's always been one of my favourites, its lyrics sound so true and amazing and Brad did an outstanding job with it! it's one of the few songs that can make me smile or bring some tears to my eyes. they say country music is amazing because it can make you smile, cry or both. I guess that's true ♥♥♥ :) #BradPaisley #Country #CountryMusic

I swear this reminds me of my in laws. But in reverse because my mother in law was always ready to go and was often sitting waiting on my father in law.She passed away in june of 2015 and he is still with us here, that sweet lady is going to have at least another20 year wait on that old man. I say this, because he is 81 years old, but his grandmother, mom and 2 aunts lived to be 104, 103,102 and 100.His granny, my husband's gret grandmother, luved the longest than comes his grandmother and his 2 great aunt's

I cry every time I hear this song bc it makes me think of my grandpa who passed away. He would always just find a bench somewhere when he took my grandma shopping and wait on her there and people watch and never complained. He enjoyed it no matter how long it took.
