Do they make any noise from plates clanging together? Iv seen the Nuobell ones in action and noticed this

is it possible to disassemble and repair them if necessary? I am thinking about buying nearly identical ones from Atletica which offer far longer warranty (5 years).

Hey there, thanks for the question. It doesn't appear possible to take them apart and re-assemble, from what I can tell. The mechanism appears to be quite simple however (when you turn the handle, a metal rod extends and retracts to hold the plates).

@@ChrisRossUK The mechanism is based on small Nylon gears. Those are quite durable but get weaker over time. Some companies allow you to buy such gears individually and repair their dumbbells. That comes in handy in case of damage too, if it breaks after falling to the floor (some american ones are even dropproof but those arent available in Europe)

Are they noisy if u workout with them? I’ve seen another video of the braingains and there it makes a lot of sound with every rep of training

In my experience, there is some rattling but it's minimal. The plates feel like they stay close together and the only noise I tend to get is when I put them back onto the base. However, I primarily do slower movements and if you're using these for some sort of HIIT training then there would likely be some audible noise (although I don't think it'd be much)

Are the weights waterproof? As in is there a plastic layer on the outside?

The housing is mostly covered, but not completely. The easiest way that water could get in (if they were rained on, for example) is likely in between the plates.

When you use them do they ratel like the neobells

In my experience, there is virtually no noise from these during use. The only time I really hear them is when I'm picking them up or putting them back down.

Ordered the 40kg ones in Feb, 4 weeks delay and they turned up with the twist function on both dumbbells not working (I dont think there is a lock or safety mechanism that can be turned off and on). Lets see what customer services have to say about it.

@@ChrisRossUK Seems as though 3 of the clips on the base (both on one base and one on the other base) have snapped off. Presuming this is key to the handle twist mechanism working.

The plates are quite close together and the only noise I get from them is when I'm placing them back in the base. When I'm using them, I don't get any noise from them!
