7:20 Dr. John Harvey Kellogg did in fact make unsweetened corn flakes because he believed that eating bland food helped "minimize excitement" and suppress human desires. He opened the Battle Creek Sanitarium, where he did awful things in the name of keeping patrons healthy, and wealthy people came in swarms thinking they would regain their youthful vitality. John didn't actually approve of sugar being put into the corn flakes, because it would take away the blandness, defeating the purpose. His brother, Will Keith Kellogg (the one who seems way more chill imo), went ahead and added sugar anyways, and he founded the Kelloggs cereal brand.

I’m like this sometimes. It’s basically just regulating yourself according to how mature/goofy your companion is. So if you’re with someone MORE wild than yourself, you need to be more serious/mature to keep some order. I'm almost 40 now, and I can tell you that breakfast cereals are definitely not what they were 30 years ago. The change from real sugar to HFCS or some other sweetener is a big big part of it. But something else changed along the way as well - something in the manufacturing process. While I couldn't say what they're doing differently, I CAN tell you that the TEXTURE has changed - across the board. They all seem more porous and rough on the surface than what I remember. Kix in particular used to have a very smooth almost glazed surface, and now they're just not.. Froot Loops were much more dense throughout and now they're very light and airy inside. I could give examples for every single one they ranked. They all just taste like disappointment now compared to what they used to be..

I like how Seán is spooked by the milk gallon without even realising the average American family buys like 2-3 of those every shopping trip Edit: I think some of the shock is because y'all also don't have the same culture around groceries we do. Many Americans buy groceries in bulk only about every 2-4 weeks, if even. Although, we might buy milk slightly more frequently to stagger the sell-by dates, we do usually have 2-3 gallons of milk in the fridge at a time. They do also come in smaller, pint-size cartons (what the plastic bottle is called) though, if you're single or don't consume as much milk. I blame the food pyramid, which included milk/dairy products as a vital part of a balanced diet. Also the old "Got Milk?" ad campaigns

I like how Magic Spoon showed up on the scene with all this hype and all these sponsorships saying great things about it, and then you get people eating it who aren't being paid to say nice things just going "that tastes rancid." And for the record I agree. If your cereal expired, and I'm not talking about going stale but like actually rotting, that's what Magic Spoon tastes like.

I like that the Jack and Ethan pairing doesn’t have the slight maturity that the Mark and Ethan pairing has. So whenever one of them is silly and does a voice, the other one also becomes very silly.

Fun fact: Your fun fact is incorrect. And nobody seems to know about the name but the original mascot was called Apple Guy so 'jack' could've played off of that ('jack' being old slang). And yes, Apple Guy is a nightmare: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJzYhJh-drN0mpo

im just hoping they rinsed out the bowls/replaced with actual fresh milk between cereals because cereal really changes the flavor of the milk so if they didn't rinse their bowls, at the end they would've had a mix of every cereal flavor, also you really shouldve saved cinnamon toast for last, i feel like the flavor doesn't go away easy
