Hello dear, I have the same Mercedes as on the video, my question is: Should I take all the old liquid out of the reservoir with an oil extractor or some of it?

Hi, yeah want to get as much as possible old fluid out from the reservoir. This will make if faster to bleed where you'll have less old fluid to pass through the lines to the calipers.

Get as much as you can out. This step is only to reduce the time spent pulling old fluid at the caliper 🫡

Thanks for the detail video. My brake hold function stopped working after flushing and bleeding the brake. When I use the hold, the car keep rolling and the ABS system triggers. Do you know what needs to be done?

Not sure since my car does not have that option and never encountered that issue before. I would suspect air got into the fluid system. If not, I would use a scan tool to see if any faults are present in the abs sys and if there a brake fluid function on your car through the scanner. I don't remember my car having a brake fluid function on the scanner when I checked.

I jacked from the front and back, there is a rubber jacking point in the front. and the rear jacked from the diff and placed the stands on the normal side jacking points.

One more question do you keep the lid of the container close during the change or is open?

You will need it open to keep refilling the reservoir as you bleed the calipers, but try to minimize the time with the reservoir lid open.

I own 2006 Mercedes W211 E280 CDI LIFT without SBC. Can I use the same procedure of brake fluid replacement like you present on W212? MB with SBC the procedure is complicated. You need computer, Star Diagnosis etc.

Had another look at repair docs and this bleeding procedure includes 166, 172, 207, 212, 218, 292 models. I haven't looked at 211 repair procedures before so I don't really know.

Great vid. Can it also use dot 4 race fluid? I don't know if it's plus or what but its supposed to be the best dot 4 from ate. Also if i can reach through the spokes and access the bleeder valve do I need to jack up the car or remove the tires at all? Lastly do you have to pump the brakes or anything once this process is complete or do you just start the car and go?

Thx man . Using different brake fluids is a subject I haven't looked into, I've only used the recommended dot from factory. You can bleed the brakes without removing the wheels but you run the risk of dripping brake fluid on the wheels while bleeding which will damage the paint or finish on the wheels. Its a good idea to pump the brakes once done with any brake service just to make sure you have stopping power before driving the car.

Depends where your brake master cylinder reservoir is. Basic idea is you want to start with bleeding the brake caliper farthest away from the brake reservoir.

do you need to pump pressure at the breakpedal on these cars? Or in general on automatic cars 2011 and newer? I never done a change on newer cars or on automatic cars. Only on the older cars.

Every car is different can't generalize (e.g. some 2000s cars need a computer scanner to do the bleed). But for this car in the video you can do it the old school way of pumping the pedal or a presser bleeder at the reservoir or like what I did with pulling vacuum at the calipers. But pumping the pedal isn't necessary if using the presser bleeder or vacuum if the brake lines were not opened.

Not according to the service instructions. And looking into the Autel scanner functions, didn't see any bleeding options on the scanner.

You almost got me confused there 🤣. The wrench has 2 different sizes, look closely and you'll see one side is a 10 and the other side being used is an 11mm.
