Tip: clean, used toothbrushes help spread grease, anti-seize, and other gels very smoothly.

Don't make the mistake of using that CRC synthetic grease on the slide pins like I did. Silicon grease only.

I personally put brake quiet on the back of the pad, but thats cause i work in a shop. Grease on the back is a great idea if you dont have access/ money to buy a can of brake quiet

Clean your bracket with a wire wheel before putting on the stainless clips. Southern states forget about rust and dont see it as a problem. Had vibrations and sticking pads form people doing brakes improperly not cleaning hubs, wheels and not cutting rotors. If your car has cheap rotors replace dont cut its often cheaper. Easy pezy but probably the most common thing to be done wrong. I dont understand people trying to save 200 to 300 bucks on brakes by not cutting or replacing. Yeah ill do the job again but gotta pay me again.

Definitely the point of the video was were to apply the grease not how to clean your surfaces but you are right

No. Don't put it anywhere except the slide pins! They are covered by rubber boots so the grease is not exposed. Anywhere else is going to collect contamination and will turn "sticky" causing the problem you're trying to avoid. All contact points should be clean and dry. No lube! No manufacturer lubes ANY external contact points of OE brakes. Be careful with what you hear...

Have your read the Bottle or Little brake grease pack in a while or simply googled what your saying

I agree you’re asking for it putting grease on all those spots. Debris will collect and do exactly what you think you’re preventing. No service manual says to do any of that because of this problem. The manufacturer of that grease is not the manufacturer that f the car, if they wanted grease there it would’ve been there from factory.

Do not add grease to those areas 🤦♂️ Clean those areas and lube the slide pins. Every time i have to re-check someones work because of noise they have grease slobbered on the back of the pads and on the fitting kit. The manufacturer didnt do it and you shouldn't either. That car aint coming back for brake noise after I'm done cleaning and correcting the mess.
@aaronthemechanix2 ай бұрын
@@jacoboflores9257 your preference is right but manufacturing does specify on vehicles to add it on other areas beside the slide pins
This guy is rubbing grease all over his brake pad meat as hes talks. Dont touch the meat the oil gets absorbed ruins braking and the life of the pad.😂😂😂

what?

Thanks for the vid tho but yeah never touch the pad just the oil from your hands can mess the life up of the pads an also make noise. Customers coming back sucks.

R your gloves grease free? do u use them to work on cars? I'm not hating just it made me laugh cause as u say not to get grease on that side u are touching it with greasy gloves and plus those pads look dirty as he'll. My teacher in college would yell at use if he seen us touching that side. Good way to get a customer to come back complaining of squeak could even pick up a pebble stick it between pad an rotor all bad 😊
