And then Quincy’s whip passes onto John and then his son Jonathan. Castlevania.

Keanu's casting was perfect. As someone who has read the original novel, he PERFECTLY captured just how rock stupid and oblivous Harker is

I find it strange that Linkara did not point out that Dracula's sex scene with Lucy as a werewolf was a rape according to the script. Or that they turned Mina from diligent and smart into a horny idiot seduced by the man she knows raped, killed and turned her best friend into a demon. This, the fact that Coppola made this into a slasher film where the more sexual girl dies first (witch is not the case in the novel) and that Dracula is just as evil and cruel as in the novel but we are supposed to feel sorry for him are my biggest problems with the film. I do not care about Keanu Reeves's accent. It is minuscule compared to this.

Something I hate with this version of the story is that they try to make dracula a tragic, romantic figure. While still having him abduct children, kill innocents and rape Lucy and abandons her once he's done. You can't have it both ways. Also they don't do enough to make the love triangle more poinient by having Jonathan be a more active character and an equal to Dracula. Also also, they some how made Mina weaker than her character in the book. Though I must say that art style looks great.

So, show of hands: who thought the Coppola film was actually kind of a bunch of crap? Like, maybe it's me, but I think all of Dracula's looks and costumes are varying degrees of campy and ludicrous, the acting ranges from wooden to hammy, the tone is wildly inconsistent and the plot itself is really quite boring and meandering.
@mercenaryknight54195 жыл бұрын
The Coppola film just totally missed the point of the book.
