This bike is kinda slept on IMO. I have an 01 with a 351 kit and a 36mm pumper carb swap. These KLX s are a good low maintenance trail bike that’s actually pretty fast with the right carb. Xr’s are pretty good but these bikes go for half the price and that’s hard to beat

ABSOLUTELY! My father bought the fuel injected KLX300R, and it is perfect on the trails and keeps up with my TM Racing EN300ES 2 stroke. I want to buy the Power Commander 6, FMF Megabomb & 4.1 exhaust, and open up the airbox (heard the kdx snorkel is better, but also heard it's better just to pull the whole snorkel off??)...I want Dad to get the most out of it. He's been one of the best fathers a son could ask for, and want to build his bike up for him! If you know what else I could do to make it a better experience for Pops, please let me know?? -If this one would have been available a few months ago, I would have got him to purchase this, since you can get more grunt & power out of the carb version. They are certainly fun either way though!
