Hi, Bryan. This is a pretty old video as this hood attachment griddle model have been replaced and improved several times since then. Most hoods now attach directly to the griddle plates and it's just a matter of lifting it off the griddle (3 seconds) and your in business. Thanks for watching!

Hi there - The Black Friday griddle does not have a hood. It has a Hard Cover. It is made for storage and protection. Just as the label states that was on your Hard Cover when it arrived. It is not for cooking and can't be used to cover the griddle as a hood while the griddle is hot. I hope that makes sense!

@praisehisawesomename Todd I greatly appreciate the reply I actually bought the adventure 22 inch griddle at Walmart this yr came with hard cover its still in box but fleet farm has the 22 inch blackstone with hood on it for 149 and I can get 20 dollars off so be 129 main difference I see is one I got at Walmart has 2 hook on inside of cover and can hang it from back of griddle as to where the one at fleet is an actual hood and is attached to the griddle ... so more I thought about it I'm leaning towards the one with an actual hood attached especially after watxhin this video... on sidenot been using a 36 inch blackstone for at home since gettin it 2 yrs ago and love it so whichever 22 I go with either return one I have or buy one at fleet farm will be used for when we go icefishing this winter or camping in the summer .. also ordered a weather resistant bag already that will carry and help protect the blackstone when we travel but again I was Lil confused between the hard cover that came with o e at Walmart amd the one for 30 dollars more with a hood at fleet farm

I definitely love the hood, I got the new 22 inch model from Walmart when it was launced in April, it came with the hood installed and a stand. My unit had an issue with faulty regulator, Blackstone sent me a replacement regulator.

Hi, James - Check the date on the video. This video was produced a few years before the Rear Grease 17" griddle came out. You can buy a 17" Griddle with the hood attached from the manufacturer now. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

As far as I know, it's only good for the older front grease style of 17in. As far as I know, they haven't released one for the newer style yet. If you have any questions, just call Blackstone customer service! I don't work in product development.

Hi, Jeremy. No. The Tailgater griddle does not sit on a base as the griddle plate sits directly on the burner. You would have to do some serious jerry-rigging and metal work, and spend lots of effort to make that work. The 50" will be out when it's out. An actual release date was never discussed. Stay tuned. The 36" sold out on the site. It's is available at countless stores nationwide now though and will be back in stock at the warehouse soon I'm told.

You missed your chance. The Hard Covers were released in April and THOUSANDS were sold...THOUSANDS. The warehouse sold out. Many physical stores have some left in stock but you'll have to search around. I don't work in distribution, warehousing, etc. They will be back in stock eventually!

You are correct. The front grease 17-inch griddle has been out for many years and this hood that you're talking about was designed to years ago, for that version. This year Blackstone released B-17 in griddle with rear grease for the first time ever. The new hood, for the new style 17-inch griddle has not yet been developed.

The older griddles were not made to hold a hood Or to withstand the weight displacement of having an open hood. You can purchase many models that were designed/come with an attached hood though. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching.

Well, these hoods are "after market" so there wouldn't be a way to "after market" a latch on the bottom/griddle side if that makes sense. Granted, we have cases to carry them, but the weight of griddle plate is such that you wouldn't be carrying it sideways like a suitcase anyway unless it was in the case, in which case it would be snug and wouldn't open anyway. Hi LaDonna. Good question. I don't know what griddle you have? Do you have the 22" or the 17"? If you have it in a case, just make sure you keep it out of the elements, either in a garage, trunk of your car, etc. Also make sure your have the top oiled!

Hi Josh. Thanks for watching. If you watch the video where I announced the new Hard Covers (April perhaps?) the response was insane. Blackstone sold thousands in the first few months. They sold out at the beginning of June. Many stores (Friedman's, Sportsman's Warehouse, and a few others) carry then in their physical stores. You'll have to keep on the hunt!

Hi Mr Legit - No, they probably won't make one. The grill grates (like the ones for the 36" and 28" are not overly popular). Most people, like me, started griddling and kissed grilling good bye. I'm sure somebody out there will make a 3rd party version for sale in the future though.

Hi Charlotte - You have to be looking every day. Blackstone had the 22" in stock for several months and it sold out several weeks ago. Walmart.com has the 22" for sale and you'll see it come and go from stock. You can sign up for an alert for when it comes back in 1/2 of the Walmart stores in the country are also carrying the 22" in store. You can just search at Walmart.com for availability at the stores you are interested in. Heads up though, I would assume the hoods will sell out. You wouldn't believe how many people have sent me messages saying they bought one. When I announced the 36" and 28" Hard Covers in April, THOUSANDS were sold and they sold out rather quickly. Todd, my Wife bought me the 22” griddle bundle from Walmart for Father’s Day & I love it. I have the 36” for home & now the 22” for work. The stand, hood, griddle with rear grease management & 20 lb bottle adapter are a steal & work really great. Heats up fast. The only thing is open the valve slowly or the regulator wil trip & you only get low flow. For $147.00 it’s a heck of a bargain. Don’t wait or they’ll be gone.
