Do either of you race both Spec Skis and Ocean skis OR are you both just purely Ocean Downwind? I am in Australia and I own a Spec Ski. My Spec Ski became very heavy after many and various repairs. I will get an Ocean Ski when my finances improves dramatically.

Hey pokeypickle3, we both race the spec and ocean skis. We definitely enjoy trying out all the different craft and getting to know what they're all about. Mate, go for it, an ocean ski will be lekker to hit the downwinds in. But don't let go of your spec, its such a gem to use for training and surf practice. 🌊😄 To really answer your question, I am a lifesaver and elite paddler so I use both regularly, Jerry uses an ocean ski more often but is really enjoying the feel for the spec.
