He is not some 1800 novice, but 2700 in OTB blitz as well .I am pretty sure he saw cracks in black king position well before he played it and Carlsen gave him the attack on silver platter when he removed his own queen from protection duties of kingside position.black bishop and knight just could not deal with white attack with queen, bishop and rook

It was funny seeing Kramnik being beaten by much younger players and blocking them, and I was like "bitter old man yelling at clouds", but now that my favorite player has been beaten it's not so funny any more!!!!!1 Anyway Magnus spent 35 seconds making that blunder move so I think he's to blame. @rhwing5095
@rhwing5095 3 ай бұрын
Well, were you on the anti-Kramink bandwagon yourself or no? I've watched Kramnik's streams and he's pretty tempered in his "accusations". Most of the drama videos involving Kramnik are very biased and don't really capture the whole picture. He can be very wrong but it's something which is worth to look at, not simply ridicule. He's asking questions which everyone should actually be asking. He doesn't like to play IM's online but is more than happy to play (and lose) to the best OTB players, like Magnus. In the last TT he took out several strong GM's including Fabi (while playing poorly), but lost that game to Jospem. All online results (particularly of "blitz specialists" should be taken with a grain of salt. Not that they can't be legit (they are likely legit much more often than not). Yet it's also almost certain that some of these players are cheating, as many have attested. There's much more room for a little foul play. Martinez can be #20 in the world in blitz or online with a legitimate claim to the position, that's fine. But he's #185 on the classical, "formal" list, where he's had no improvement in 4 years, which should remain the primary metric.

Check out Kramnik's latest argument from his channel; it's pretty compelling. He identifies three categories: (1) Untouchables: Magnus and Hikaru - considered the absolute best; (2) Touchables: a group of former or current top 10 players, strong in online blitz, and (3) Online Prodigies: Very skilled online but weaker in physical (OTB) blitz. The data show Groups 1 (Untouchables) and 2 (Touchables) are fairly evenly matched. Interestingly, 3 players from group 3 specifically excel against group 2 (winning 40% of matches) but get crushed by Hikaru. This finding is intriguing to chess legend Kramnik.

Mags blunder was not dealing with the fianchetto bishop on time. I don't even think his check attempt was a blunder, rather it was a realization that his position was already lost and he would not get a better opportunity to win the game. Mag's general strategy is simplifying positions and then dominating the endgame; going for the early mate is unlik him and I believe that is why.

No way to tell based on this game whether anyone is cheating or not. Magnus' blunder was not obvious at all for a blitz game. You can look at top level blitz games - they often have eval bar swinging up and down later in the game(in other words they're "blundering"). If someone is engine cheating in a complex position down by "-1.4", they'll almost certainly win against any one in a blitz game. No one with a brain is going to cheat by playing top engines moves all the time or have eval bar consistently on their side.

@@sHaterred-vh7cs His OTB blitz is fairly high (2703 or 23rd in the world), but then I found out that most of his opponents are rated far lower than him and not GMs. He had a few good runs, for example he beat Shirov and another guy over 2600 which got his rating so high, but it's generally non-GM 2100-2400 players he seems to come along and wipe the field with. And he hasn't done well in blitz since March 2020. He's for sure a pretty decent player beating those 2300s so regularly without even a draw, his classic rating is 2603. There's some possibility he's not cheating especially if it was a one-off, but it's all kind of very suspicious especially the 6-0 Kramnik thing.

That attacking idea is unnatural by white. It is on Tal, Fischer, Murphy level. It looks like a grind at first but the depth you have to calculate to ensure it will work is 76 moves while playing blitz against the world's best. If you are emotionless then sure but having human traits makes it unnatural. Also the choice to give up a pawn for gaining momentum in mid game once again against Magnus so comfortably is telling like We are not same Meme.

It's not that Magnus didn't see pawn f5, (Mag is not missing pawn moves) but that Mag didn't have any way to avoid it. He lost the game a long time ago (position wise).
