It's a lovely car, and almost certainly the best new Hatchback on the market, but I honestly prefer the Pre-facelift 2018 - 2023 W177 A-Class, (I own one but I promise I'm not being biased) 🤣, this facelift just seems the same, but they've removed things? So the trackpad (which was great) is now gone, so if your passenger wants to put something on the screen, or do the navigation etc, they have to use the screen and get it all mucky! The new shiny plastic black steering wheel just isn't as nice as the old metal one, and although the 'Old' premium spec is now the standard, they've raised the prices of all models so it doesn't really make much difference!

I agree. I purchased a 2022 A250 AMG line a month ago and am very happy I got it when I did as I use the track pad all the time and actually prefer the pre-facelift headlights

@@YourTrainerJacob 100%, the metal wheel, trackpad, and actual physical buttons on the pre-facelift are far superior to the new "cutback" one. Although all car manufacturers are doing it, just look at BMW's iDrive8, no physical buttons or dials for temperature, the shifter is gone, and the screens are just plastic panels stuck onto the screen

Totally agree with everything you say.

I've owned a 2021 (177) 220d AMG Line Exec for 2-years and absolutely love it. It's an outstanding car. Well made with quality materials (in spite of comments by some reviewers) with performance like few others from it's 190 (bhp) 2.0L diesel, achieving 0-60 in 7 seconds. The fuel economy again excels - I've achieve (circa) 55 mpg routinely on 60 mile trips on motorway & A-roads. The only negative comment I have is the AMG Line is a little too low for the crumbling U.K. roads. Quite often the front under shield extents (spray guards) catch on poor surfaces, or speed humps even at very low speeds.

Minor quibble at about 18 minutes in you moan about the USB c sockets but a) that's been the standard for years and b) I'm pretty sure you can see the supplied USB adapter cable in the cubby there at 18.33

I would have liked to known more about the 1.3 engine that was on the test car. Others here have commented on cabin noise and an engine struggling to power the car. This review covered all the various types of A class but I’ve no idea what it’s like to live with.

It’s a good car apart from the rear camera which opens and closes multiple times as you slow down and speed up. According to Mercedes this is now the normal method of operation as the camera goes through a calibration sequence every time you start the car and the camera operation is quite noisy, somewhat like the central locking going off - very annoying and I can’t find out from Mercedes why this calibration is now necessary as the previous version of the A class didn’t do this.

another thing that annoys me about it is it doesn't show calls list when I try to make a call so I can't make a call from the steering wheel buttons..my last a class done it but this one doesn't. Well, it does after the phone has been used but it clears again every time you start the car

What? Not on my car.

But they will stop producing this a line, then why worth buying if no spare parts on a long run?

When I drove A180 in 2020, I was not impressed with the cabin noise, flimsy interior, and how much the engine was struggling to pull the car. I don't know about the latest generation, but I'd expect the quality has gotten worse due to ever increasing cost cutting.

Totally wrong on all accounts I have the new face-lift!!

lol who buy the 180? I got a A200.

@WinkelHoof A200 or A whatever, the quality and overal deiving experience wasn't spectacular for a Mercedes. In favt most mercedes benz's are nothing special anymore. Benz is just an status symbol amongst Turks and Arabs.
