Ok so she didn't say Brandon told her to quit school and dancing she said she 'felt' like she had to not that she had to! She made that choice basically to stalk him 24/7 and probably use it as a manipulation in future fights! She knows exactly what she's doing!

Thats what I think. Women like her tend to be monsters towards their own daughters..especially when their daughters hit puberty. They tear down their daughters and make them feel worthless or like they are a problem. Then again with a son she would likely be way too possesive and destroy his dating life.

He's probably just so desperate to feel loved, because he didn't experience unconditional love in his formative years. Abused kids frequently become adults who think that relationships and being loved involve abuse, because that's what has always been their lived experience and what feels familiar and normal. A lot of them will actively seek out dysfunctional relationships, because that's what feels safe and "normal" to them. There's also a perversely addictive aspect of the highs and lows inherent in an abusive relationship that can keep people hooked - That deeply intense relief and dopamine rush when their abuser deigns to give them a crumb of kindness or love bomb them after a bout of heart breaking, crazy making cruelty and abuse that has them feeling so very lost, desolate, broken, and confused about what they did to deserve it, and obsessed with figuring out how they can somehow "fix" whatever it is so they can get another hit of that sweet relief and feeling worthy of love again, even if only for a short time. The lowest of lows, alternated with what feels like the highest of highs to them is a hell of a drug. I've know plenty of adult survivors of child abuse and neglect who hold a deeply ingrained belief that unless their partner is controlling and abusive, they mustn't really love them or feel passionate enough to "fight" for them. They see a calm supportive partner as someone who "doesn't care enough" and isn't "passionate enough" to be obsessed with and highly reactive to their every move. It's absolutely horrendous, but unfortunately it's not at all rare. It's messed up, and I hope this kid somehow finds it in himself to gtfo of the relationship and seek intensive therapy.

I get what your saying to a degree, but I've been where she's at. And it's hard. It is a pain that is so hard describe. It's not that she wants to "run" things it's that she lived and has more life experience and she is basically watching a train on a track that she knows is disconnected and knows there is going to be a crash. Any good parent is going to be honest with their child. Because they don't want to see them fail, they don't want to see them crash and burn. And if she has important information she needs to share it. And yeah I can see how it's too little to late, but that doesn't mean she should just stop all together. That's still her child and she still loves him. No matter how bad she's messed up he shouldn't throw her away and vice versa

Mary is "sacrificing" things for Brandan that he isn't asking for so that she can guilt him later about all she gave up. And by setting the rules to make him feel more comfortable (supposedly) it allows her to shift the blame if she is ever caught breaking the rules to how much pressure he puts on her to make him feel safe, secure and happy. My mother did shit like this, it raised two boys that are doormats and delusional, and two girls (me and my little sister) who were desperate to leave at all costs. I dont care if this comes from a place of insecurity or not, you are not allowed to torture someone vulnerable just because you have issues. Luckily we are both in better places now (I bought a house, got married and had a son all while having a career; and my sister moved in with us recently to get away - shes 10 years younger than me).

Being a victim of abuse myself, more than once... he is not a victim. They are both doing it to each other. Both are toxic. @@Seaglassandsage Sorry, you can't play the gender card with me lol I am well-aware of how incredibly abusive women can be. It is not that at all. I've known of many abusive women and their traumatized partners and there is a clear pattern of behavior. I have male friends who have been in horribly toxic, abusive relationships with narcissistic women. In this case, they are both toxic. Sure, that comes with emotionally abusive behaviors, but they are both mostly codependent and toxic in mostly equal measures. She behaves much like many women here of similar social/financial status as her(I'm in the Philippines), in that they are very desperate to hold on to foreign partners out of insecurity and as a result, many behave erratically. There is also a component of cultural difference that you aren't privy to, not to say that women here are histrionic, but there is a stereotype of jealousy and dramatics. The type of men who succumb to these behaviors are typically men who may not have received this kind of attention before and don't understand that it's out of desperation among other things... this is coupled with cptsd from both ends and voila - perfect storm of toxic behaviors. But he is most certainly not the victim. He is pathetic. He likes the attention. They even both admit that they find security in each other's insecurity. He is an enabler at most and lacks boundaries. She is immature, manipulative, and possibly even borderline. It's fucked up, but he is most certainly not the victim.

There are no cultural differences in south east Asia that affirm women are more likely to be jealous and clingy…. so your cultural stereotype is not true. I think because you haven’t had positive men in your life you’re developing a skewed perceptive. He is not pathetic, he is being manipulated, financially exploited, and abused by this toxic woman, who goes behind his back to hang out with men every chance she gets. Take a look at the rest of the comments, do you think you are the one that’s right and everyone else here is wrong? You need to check yourself, if you were coming from the Philippines yourself… Can you understand that you are unreasonably sympathizing with her? As the season progresses and her behavior becomes more toxic and abusive… You can continue in your narrative that her partner is “ pathetic” and he “deserves it”, it will be largely ignored.

I think she was accusing him of cheating because he went somewhere where there were women (like his mother's house) and he said that she's around other guys all the time at school, and attracts other guys with her dancing but he doesn't go all crazy and so she stopped so he can't call her hypocrite.

To be honest, coming from someone who is in the Philippines, I see her attitude a lot with local girls/women who aren't... I dunno how else to put this, but... not the best catch. They are insecure, knowing they are replaceable. They managed to hook a foreigner and monitoring him 24/7 is a way to ensure that he can't be snagged by another girl online just like her or someone better than her who is local to him. It's competitive out here for them, y'all. 😂 When they don't have anything much going for them - they're just normal looking, don't have a career, no opportunities, no financial security, etc. a foreign boyfriend is more than a life line. It's like winning the lottery - especially when he isn't 20-30 years older and they truly can feel attraction and love towards a young partner. Life is hard for many... I see this kind of insecurity and jealousy and hyper-vigilance amongst those with older foreign men who they don't even like... it will be even worse for someone they actually do like. lol

Agree! If you're going to date a Filipino/a local, go for someone university-educated, perhaps working in corporate, whose family preferably has properties/small businesses. If it's someone with Mary's background, the foreigner's bound to get taken advantage of. Brendan's $$$ built her family's house. What does Mary have to offer in this relationship/partnership? And Mary's "dancing" that she quit is just Tiktok dancing? 😶‍🌫️ It doesn't even seem like she's a part of a dancing group. There are lots of hip-hop/modern dance groups in universities if only she didn't stop her schooling.

@@sana_saint Yeah, this is the advice I give to foreign friends of mine or people I come across online. If you are matching with people from the Philippines, you're less likely to end up with a sex worker/bar girl/financial parasite if you match with someone who is educated and comes from a financially secure family. Of course, some men choose the former on purpose - they know it's an exchange... however, they end up supporting not only the girl but her entire family (extended fam included).

Alienating yourself from your friends and family because of a girl is dangerous type of abuse. She is an abuser, she and him both need therapy. Will just have the mild scent of the person experiment mix with the clothes in the perfumes I knew a friend that had a long-distance girlfriend they were dating for two years and one had to move so the other friend would wear a bunch of clothes throughout the week. Make sure they didn’t smell too awful and then put them in a box and ship them to her girlfriend, sometimes I leave clothes at my boyfriends house and he smells them and it fills in with joy. I don’t think it’s too weird. Sent is a very important key sense.

You're right! They need therapy SEPARATELY. How are they going to have income if he loses jobs bc of her having to witness him living? I may be wrong, but he has NEVER said anything that remotely sounds jealous, it's all her saying he does. I've been abused, that's what abusers do so they don't come off as the problem. I predict he will see it's just as bad, if not worse, when he is physically in the room with her. She's BAD. I've heard of abused women that had the 24/7 surveillance, but never a female doing it to a male. TLC should be ASHAMED not intervening and letting this happen! For what?! Money and views? This is as bad as watching Angela abuse Michael and I was so disgusted I stopped watching. Wasn't SHE always accusing him, yet doing things openly that she would have a meltdown if he did? I see such similarities! Pleeeeease someone save him!!!! Toxic is one thing seeing them figure it out (like Gino), but blatant abuse and filming it? That's beyond sick!! These 2 are too young, immature and inexperienced to give them fame for this behavior or accepting it for the cameras.

I think the only time it’s some what ok to fantasize about another person if it’s so absurd that it’ll never happen. Like movies/tv/anime/book characters, celebrities, or a random hot person on the bus, because it will most likely never happen. But if it’s someone who could be potential i.e. a friend, roommate, someone you know personally, then fantasizing about them is a red flag and a no go. That’s telling me that you’d rather be with them instead of me. And thinking about them while we’re doing it is such a red flag if get the fuck outta there as soon as possible.

I personally feel that cheating in a relationship is whatever the parameters in the relationship you set up. So, for example, a lot of people have basic, physical, and emotional boundaries. I think pretty much anyone would be on board if they're in a monogamous committed relationship. However, I also think there are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed if you would feel slighted if it happened to you. So in the Jasmine and Gino case, you know she would lose her mind if she found out that Gino was doing that. Same if he was meeting with his ex. So if it's something that you would feel betrayed and hurt by your partner doing, then even if your partner doesn't care, you shouldn't be doing it. I am really good friends with an ex of mine but when something goes wrong in my new relationship, I don't go and vent to him about it. I know that I would probably feel some type a way if I found out that my current partner was running to their ex and telling them details about our relationship.

I can’t imagine how shitty she must feel, she already acknowledged she lost 10 years to addiction but having just reconnected with Brandan and seeing him go through this…I can’t imagine the layers of guilt and lost life she’s probably feeling watching him leave to be with her. I will never be in that position, so I could be completely wrong but I feel like she might be devastated feeling like her recovery was “too little too late.” I know that’s not the case, but having struggled with mental illness I feel like that so often.

BTW, I'm raising grandchildren who their parents basically just don't want and I pray they won't be insecure like Mary or Brendan are. Mary is more nuts, imo. She's a liar and everything she does she puts on Brendan. I've never seen such a wacko couple. Mary didn't have to drop school or dancing. If you listen shes says "I FELT that I had to give them up or I'd lose Brendan". It sounds as if SHE'S the one who put it on Brendan, once again!! I think his sister had every right to say what she did to Brendan. Mary is psycho, imo!! His godparents are feeding into the bs, instead of telling him straight out that it's not a healthy relationship. I haven't heard Brendan say anything crazy like Mary has said. I don't think he's as jealous as Mary.
