We only get to enjoy this here and its really sad to see the vehicle and the joy it brings to people. Even if you go after the other party for additional damages beyond their insurance, if they're broke af... then you're own insurance company will take the hit and possibly drop you. But in all honesty, an insurance company would much prefer to hear about their client totaling a $1 million McLaren over putting a family of four in the hospital for extensive orthopedic surgeries and years of physical rehab, or other such consequences. Any time everyone walks away from an accident without injury, the insurance companies celebrate.

I’m right there on the same page as the owner when he said “part of him hopes it’s totaled” because after an accident like that first of all the car usually won’t be the same as prior to the accident and secondly the re-sale value of the car will be affected and it will show up as major damage on the carfax…

Sorry to see this happen.... glad everyone is ok.... something similar to this happen to me 1 year ago... so i know the pain... one thing i recommend is investing in a dashcam for your cars especially since your cars are very valuable.... i use my phone with an app i download and a phone mount... hope all goes well.

@@Myt229 most likely yes. It wouldn't make sense for the senna to be in the east bound lane of traffic and her car to still be in west bound lane yet the senna got hit on the driver's side door. My guess is they tried turning left from Madison heading east and got hit by the lady

It's DEFINITELY totaled. That's frame damage, at a minimum it's twisted, and probably cracked. Frame damage of any kind means totaled. The damage to the driver sides A pillar is pretty significant as well

My car looks similar if not worse and the frame hasn't even been touched, all I need to do is replace my entire door with my window, mirror and door panel, straighten out my rear quarter panel and replace my pillars, no internal damage to those, just cosmetic which on mine can be replaced
