Why some people moan about tributes to Joni is beyond me. I love Joni’s music above most, but she’s never received her dues from many critics and much of the public. If Brandi has done something to improve that situation and anything to help her back to her current level, I thank her. The important thing is that Joni herself is plainly very pleased to have Brandi around and that’s good enough for me. Joni doesn’t suffer fools gladly from what I know, so I have no doubt if she didn’t want her around she’d send her scuttling. Meanwhile let’s enjoy this likely short spell with Joni in the public eye again, receiving the adoration of those she herself likes.

I do agree with this in part and I can see how it does come off as leeching and parasitic. But she has done so much to encourage Joni to get back out there and I would like to think she had a part to play in Joni regaining her her voice. I do have a lot of respect for that.
