How do I counteract my sons negative and what if stages? Does he really hate me for encouraging meds? My son 18 and his 17 and well he hates a lot. How do I act with my own? He aged out of foster care. I think he hates me. For it. Is there forgiveness within him still.

He don't want authority to help him. So any suggestions?

Hospital staff need to be help accountable for their actions. If someone has no patience or empathy, they should never work in a mental facility.

Be strong , I have panic disorder and I suffer with intrusive thoughts. Doctors think I may have OCD or tourette. I was abused at work people bullied me . Plz be strong I know sometimes we feel so bad about ourselves but isn't out our fault to be sick.

"i dont want to trade it for anything else" (one tear emoji im on desktop lol0 . i couldnt agree more as someone with schizoaffective . ive experienced a complete shift in identity, perspective, and beliefs along this journey and ive never felt more in touch with myself and the universe. the isolation and withdrawal from society happened quickly and forced me to reckon with my demons and befriend them "but it made me tougher". now im never alone yet happily in my solitude. -love u brandon

I found your interview really helpful, as im sorting out the same 3 terms and similar tale . I could relate to many of your experiences and found your articulation of the struggle towards acceptance with all the old gripes making you sicker important. Also that idea of abstract intuitions in your experiences an interesting point . I think you’ll be a thoughtful peer supporter. Ta.

I wonder if the voices he hears are kind of like spiritual guides? Facinating human to listen to, wish him the best

I know that in other, less individualistic countries, schizophrenics’ voices DO tend to be more positive, even helpful - like ancestors, spirit guides, etc. In America they apparently tend to be more angry voices…I’m glad it sounds like that hasn’t been this man’s experience 💜

This is Brandon, I would say they sound like Angels not demons. They don't sound like people I know however one is familiar to me when weird stuff happens, I hear "What are they doing to him!?" that is loud as day. They sound like they care and I care for the voices.

The mother of my children has a similar diagnosis . She started hearing the voices and having delusions after suffering postpartum depression with our 2nd son .. She is currently going through treatment but it still gets intense when she has a on top of the world manic episode .

Videos like this need to be played in the facilities for those who are still struggling with understanding or accepting their condition. Should be part of group therapy or an educational activity that can help lead a healthy discussion.

Really enjoyed this interview. As someone who also has schizoaffective order I found Brandon to be a super down-to-earth likeable guy. He really shows so much strength in how he accepts his symptoms. I also believe in the paranormal and have unfortunately had very close encounters with it. Brandon's insight into this is interesting to say the least. I think this guy is awesome and I hope he prospers! He has a beautiful voice and perspective.

I've known a few instances of a friend reporting the voices having intuition or talking about something not yet known to later find it to be true. I like hearing other people's experiences to get a better grasp on variance in symptoms. He also reports the voices have always been external and that earplugs DO help.

How sad that they've labelled this man with an imaginary medical condition instead of trying to understand his delusions, which undoubtedly have their basis in reality.
