Brandon Ingram of the NBA Los Angeles Lakers was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and this explains the unknown shoulder pain he was having.
Could this be Chris Bosh all over again where blood clots cause a player to have to retire due to medical reasons? In this video i'll explain what a DVT is and how a regular person might get one. We'll also talk about how you treat it and why an otherwise healthy player like Brandon Ingram could have this happen...and there are some pieces to it that could potentially not bode well for his career.

This is obviously really hard news to get. Be thankful the doctors caught it early before it could have moved to the lung possibly and maybe been deadly. I had dvt surgery 10 years ago today. Subclavian vein was severed. Had 15 hour procedure, thrombectomy, scalenectomy and rib resection. Fistula in wrist for 3 months. Was quite the procedure. Scalenes went hypertonic.

Can you do a video on former NHL player Marc Savard. At the time of his injury he was a top scorer in the league and then got a concussion from one of the dirtiest players in sports history. Hardly ever played again after the hit & there were stories that after not even an hour of natural daylight it gave him migraines & he’d have to sleep for most of the day. Apparently it got so bad he forgot his kids names a few times. It’d be awesome to really explain the severity of concussions such as that & what it really does to the brain.

Brian Sutterer MD Yessir. Happened a couple of days after surgery. I was about to go to sleep, then I felt like I was having a heart attack. Luckily my mom is a RN so she checked my heart rate and it was 130 beats per second. So they rushed me to the hospital via ambulance. I actually still have panic attacks here and there from the whole ordeal.

I got a Blood clot in my leg in Vijayawada. It felt like a horse was standing on my leg for 24hrs. So I decided to fast. No food for 36hrs. The next day all the pain was gone and I made it 2000miles to Amritsar. Have a nice day

Courtney Sutherlin my $50,000 was free too. I was working for the State and they paid. I was in the Marines and went to the Doc many times but none for a MPE. I’ve had 4 blood clots. One on the day of my daughters wedding. Every time I have one I stop eating for a day or two and I feel 1000x better. The body is made to heal itself, if we let it. I’ve had many many Drs tell me I should be dead. After my first one in Feb 2014 doctor told me bed rest for 30 days. I told him I’m cycling 500miles to visit my daughter one week from now. He freaked out completely. I made it no problem. Sitting still is the worst disease.

I'm sorry to say but reading into this Brandon Ingram's career may be over. His situation is just as worse or if not worse then Chris Bosh's injury. He's younger, this shouldn't be happening to a young player like him so his career as a player might be over and it's sad to say because he's so talented and so young and he could have been great. Dvt happened in his arm due to the thoracic outlet issue. So clots form from it. At least it is not a blood clot that genetically forms.
