During my mock driving tests I’ve been failing them and I wasn’t sure if my instructor would let me take the test, but I was allowed to take the test and thankfully I passed my test 1st time. I passed my test on the 27th July 2021, I have definitely improved since then and I still love watching your videos.

@@samuelavery3227 take as few paid lessons as possible. Such a waste of money and time consuming. Get yourself a cheap car (500 pounds or so), get it insured and get someone you know who has alot of driving experience to teach you how to drive, that way you get used to your own car and someone else's. I used to drive to and from work everyday with my dad, i only ever took 3 lessons and that was because my dad could teach me the ropes of driving.

Failing is not the end of the world, you learn alot from what you failed from so you will never make that mistake the next time around, I failed 2 times and was much better the 3rd time with alot more confidence, I suffer with alot of anxiety which Contributed to my 2 fails. My husband helped with not letting me beat myself up about failing because becoming a good driver takes time. I've been driving 2 years now and have learned so much along the way.

My instructor did this once and I ended up crying in the car and made me want to stop driving or find a new instructor. I get that instructors have experience with people but they don’t honestly know the feelings a learner driver has inside them, they’re incredibly stressed all the time and trying their hardest so someone losing there temper can push them over the edge. That’s why I used to drive with my mum and not my dad 😂.

My brother and sister both started driving a few years back and each had to do mandatory 12 lessons/EDT in Ireland. Before they went for their EDT lessons I used to go out with them in their cars, no dual control and would give them basic, common sense instructions on how to move off, turn, reverse, use indicators, controls, change gears, everything. I never used over complicated instructions, just basic steps for each part of driving a car. They both were doing well for about three months until they started their EDT lessons. They both went to two different driving instructors and completed the twelve lessons each. Neither of them have had the confidence to go back driving since. The instructors over complicated the lessons with ridiculous diagrams, acronyms MSM, PSV, mnemonics and lots of other useless information. Driving is something you learn by doing, it's practical and requires dexterity, not jargon that makes you confused and unsure of how to read the road and plan your braking, gear changes and judge distances for stopping, changing lanes, roundabouts. Unfortunately there are too many people with driving instructor qualifications who are creating more problems than they are trying to solve.

I personally don't think I'm that good of a driver. When I first started i made so many mistakes. Just silly mistakes, that are obviously dangerous, but easily overlooked, since you need to know exactly what to do, and you just forget, like not checking or forgetting to do something. Anyways the first instructor I had was a nightmare. He screamed at me all the time for tiny small mistakes and even calling me names. After I failed my first drivers test, I switched instructors. I drove horrendusly. And I didn't feel comfortable with him at all. I switched him with another instructor which seemed a lot more friedly and he was. He still got mad sometimes, I even broke down because I got mad at myself for making these stupid mistakes. But on my third try I passed the exam. They did let me off easy since I had almost 50 hours, but at least now I can drive normally lmao.

I don't know what frustrates me more; the fact that there's a driver learning channel that click-baits and openly mocks its participants, or the fact that it's the most successful one of the learner channels. Terrible example, I'll buy a course from you, when you show some compassion for the people you're "teaching", or making mockeries of online.

My instructor was really sweet, but he was patronising like he’d say to me, “you’re a woman you should be able to multitask” just cause I have boobs don’t mean I’m a woman. Anyway, he was telling me about one of his learners, she was in her thirties and he wasn’t her first instructor, she was so nervous in the car. It was all because her instructor shouted at her, told her he wasn’t letting her drive his car anymore, forced her to get out and drove away leaving her somewhere she didn’t know. I couldn’t think of anything worse, because I’d not be able to bite my tongue, I’d have to say something back.

During my 1 hour lesson before my test, I was doing a forward bay park and overshot it to the point where I hit the wall in front but luckily there wasn't any damage to the car, I also thought that I was destined to fail because of that happening right before my test but actually somehow managed to pass first try with no minors, the best advice I can give anyone is just drive like it's just another normal drive with your family or instructor 👍

I really like seeing people react and behave properly around learner drivers, the same as people moving and behaving properly for emergency vehicles, its just really nice to see. 6:13 is an example, the person doesnt push or try to intimidate and speed the driver up, waits, great distance away as to not pressure or put the learner off. You have every right to pass etc, but waiting is just the right thing to do, considering who you are waiting for.

Can relate a load to Brandon, knew how to drive and do everything but sometimes i just wouldn't have the focus and would do just stupid things. That talk you gave at like 29 minutes was basically word for word what my instructor said to me. Ended up passing first time with 1 minor because i was actually focused on the day of my test but if i had one of my bad days i would have probably failed with like 5/6 majors. It was really frustrating because i would know when i made mistakes, i would say right after i made them. in most of my lessons i would drive perfecty (my instructors words and not mine) but i waited for ages to actually do my test because i just didnt know whether id be having a good day or a bad one.

Putting "I lost my temper" in the video title is hardly a good advert for this instructor or DGN Driving School. The fact that he didn't lose his temper is beside the point (he was just getting a bit frustrated as far as I could see), but seriously, why put that in the title, given the name of the channel? Is it just for views? Genuine question.

Yeah. If I were in the UK and were looking for a driving school and I stumble upon this, I might be left with a negative first impression. Not a great look for a school you're promoting. Sure it'll get more clicks with that title, but is it really worth potentionally smearing your reputation as a driving instructor for? To be seen as impatient and with a hot temper, as if there arent plenty of those already? That's taking a minor shortterm gain over a long-term business centric concern by losing potential new customers. Bit dumb

You can see that driving in the UK is difficult and the regulations are very strict and even nonsensical. That's why the driving instruction is a huge business, and they are now all realizing their success depends on marketing because their competitors will also turn to the internet. It's that simple. I don't see any problem with the title, I think it's very clever

The day of my test was probably one of my worst driving experiences ever. I got a cancellation so only had about a weeks notice that I’d be doing my test. There was then a blizzard the day before so there was snow everywhere which I had never experienced before. On my way to the test with my instructor I stalled at a junction I’d driven loads of times before and for some reason panicked and stalled twice more at which point I couldn’t get the car to start again. We thought I had snapped the clutch cable as even my instructor couldn’t start it again but eventually he realised we needed to reset the clutch pedal and everything was fine. So we got going, now low on time to get to the test centre, I noticed as we were travelling at 60 down a dual carriageway that the bonnet was moving - we had popped it to try and fix the clutch but never opened it when we realised the actual problem so had set off without resecuring the primary catch. More panic, finding a safe place to stop in case it flipped up from the wind. Finally arrive at the test centre with a couple of minutes to spare and went straight into the test. Had a complete brain fade and couldn’t remember how to open the bonnet now to check the oil for my show and tell question and then needed two shunts to do the reverse bay park - thought I had failed there and then and spent the whole driving portion of the test dejected. In the end I drove really well and didn’t even get marked down for the manoeuvres, just got minors for driving too far below 30 in a built up area and a couple of observations. 13 years on I think the baptism of fire really helped make me a better driver.

My pre test lesson was the worst ever! It was so bad that my instructor admitted to me after the test that he'd spoke to the examiner and said it might be best to cancel the test because it was unsafe to have me on the roads 😳🙈 but the examiner convinced him to let me try. By the time it came to the test I had basically gave up and resigned to the fact I was going to fail which weirdly made me more relaxed. I did fail, he gave me two majors and zero minors. I didn't indicate in an empty carpark. It was a tiny gravel carpark, space for about 10 cars with no marked bays or anything. Second major, I drifted lanes slightly on a totally empty dual carriageway as I was checking my mirror while indicating to cross in to that lane. My instructor said the examiner was a total d**k for failing me but idk 🤷 I gave up for a few years after that but I'm getting ready to start lessons again. This channel looks like it'll be helpful 🙂

ALL of these things are all done as a box-ticking exercise, I would be exhausted if I had to drive like that each time I got in the car, I'll admit I am very careful with my speed to keep it bang on due to camera's, but other than that.... it's all extra lol

@@Mike-co1fd that isn’t over complicating it, that’s just keeping others safe

@@Shortyplayz I will agree with you that the idea is technically to keep other's safe BUT it's still over-complicating it. The fact that the tester has a dedicated marking sheet waiting on you to miss these proves my point, if the Driving test was to just observe you and purely judge on how safe you drove rather than oh he missed x amount of Mirror checks, it would be way more fair.

You feel he did well?? which part.... there is no reason to be nice when the driver isn't being safe! The kid is driving a 3000lb vehicle and doesnt know nothing. This isn't like learning a new hobby....

Aww yeah I failed my test recently cos I missed the 20mph sign (so I thought it was still 30mph) and yeah. I'm nervous for my next test, and I really really hope Brandon does well. We've all been there, we all know how stressful these things are.

Pin needs to be MUCH more positive in the pre-tests. If Brandon has not passed, I recommend he switch up driving instructors just for a breath of fresh air. NOT hating on Pin but his style is not there for the pre-tests.
@hotcoco8324

I was thinking that!!. The thing is Brandon has been with Pin for around YEAR now, so I think it's a case of "familiarity" he's frustrated with Brandon but he should NEVER show it , especially BEFORE his test... If he fails again, I PERSONALLY if I was Brandon would CHANGE INSTRUCTORS!!! Definitely fresh start.

@@hotcoco8324 Definitely. Brandon is lacking confidence. Otoh the test could have gone well despite this pre-test so fingers crossed he made it over the line this time.

He was only messing up so much on the roundabouts because u were making him stress out by saying too much at once, if you stayed calm with him when nothing dangerous was on the roundabout it would be fine

I had a driving instructor speak to me like this once. I told him to fuck off and he quickly realised that he needs to respect his paying customers. That attitude did nothing but make him feel more pressure

I get that Pin's frustrated, but you're not helping your student at all. Nerves are what cause the most problems and you've added to that problem by getting on at the lad. I don't know if he failed or not, but I definately would if I was making those mistakes and recieving too much constructive criticism and not enough positive feedback.

I'm sorry, but what is up with UK and "parking up on the left"? How is stopping like that in the road legal? 😆You prevent cars from moving normally and they have to go around you. Can someone explain this practice?
