There is an old Russian Proverb: "Repetition is the mother of education" if this platform for Indian stays the same, you'll have your 10k hours in no time and will then be a Professional Indian mechanic, and I think that is amazing. Keep killing it, man!

I love how all-encompassing your channel has become, Brandon. One video you're just talking to us about life, the next you're riding with friends/new friends, the next you're teaching us about this and that, the next you're breaking down a bike and just letting the work itself speak for you, etc. I've always loved your channel, but damn! is it above and beyond now. Keep up the good work, brother! WDE!

Nice, a new video in time for my lunch break. If Indian sees you rebuild these bikes, maybe they might invite you for a tour of the factory?

This looks like a much bigger project than the last bike. This would be a 1,000 + cuss word project for me. Always fun to watch the process

I can only imagine how many bolts were only giving you a 1/4 turn or less to remove along the way……MAD RESPECT 🫡
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 2 жыл бұрын
Tbh, I didn’t really run into that problem. There was enough clearance for everything assuming you removed it in the correct order. The battery box was a problem because I couldn’t get under the sub frame easily. If I took the wheel/tire off, wouldn’t have had a single struggle. Lessons learned.

Bro I feel your pain, I just wrecked my 2022 Indian chief bobber Darkhorse as I was completing the 500 mile break in. Right now I’m laid up in a comfortable chair with all my extremities wrapped up and slowly healing. But that damn Blacktail deer that took me out, didn’t make it. i’ll enter your sweepstakes as maybe I can get some parts I need to repair my girl.

@@BrandonBicasso apologies for the typos, I was a little loopy from pain meds. I think there’re all corrected. That link didn’t work for your drawing. I enjoyed the video, should be helpful when I start tearing down my bike. I’m hoping the frame is straight, so it’s all front end work.

There was alot of rust on that bike. What was up with that I wonder. Nice job Brandon.
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 2 жыл бұрын
It’s a wrecked bike so they sit outside for awhile. And, it could involve their galvanizing process not being as protective too.
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 2 жыл бұрын
A lot of the rust is surface level too so it doesn’t affect the majority of the pieces from disconnecting.

I love your work. I have a Scout bobber I did some mods to but I was thinking about getting a Chief Bobber. is there a way to do a rear fender delete? I don't know if the Chief needs more support like a "tank machine" plate as I did with my Scout Bobber. Thank you!
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso Жыл бұрын
Yeah, there's a number of people that have done it. There's a few aftermarket solutions out there to close off the fender area. The only thing that's critical are the electronics under the fender. The cellular modem, VCM are stored under there. Relocation of those under a floating seat or some other solution under the seat makes it a breeze.

Great to see work on this bike progressing. I'm looking forward to the rest of the exercise. Btw, I know you probably know this, but lift with your knees and not your back. I noticed you using your back a lot when moving that beast of a motor. I'd hate to see you end up like me with a ruined back.

Just found your channel. :) Now that you've pulled an engine on one of these and seen all the wiring, do you feel it would be a miracle to get it to run outside of the frame? The reason I ask, is I have 3 Indian now, and I want to make my own hardtail Indian. I've never done it with a bike that didn't have a carb on it. I'm a bit nervous about the fuel injection and all the electronics, fob and etc. I'm curious your thoughts.
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It’ll start long as you have the fob/WCM connected. I’m not sure how to bypass all of it to start, but it’s not a lot to have wired up to make it work. I’m not there at starting motors outside of the main harness set up yet.

2018 indian chieftain 111, have you ever replaced sprag/clutch and if so does it require removal of the engine? Thanks in advance
@BrandonBicasso
@BrandonBicasso 2 ай бұрын
I’ve rebuilt a 116 engine and it requires engine removal. The inner cam cover can’t come off with the push rods installed so the heads come off too. Look at this video of installing the sprag. kzbin.infoUgkxgMjW2IxZoLJRs5O0V_YC1kFBCSPVmrjb?si=349OvHmLXyphwduZ
