You know, I do find it interesting that even though Sam is seen as this "controversial personality" he doesn't seem to be outright malicious towards others. He does things to catch people off guard or whatever, but he doesn't really seem particularly bitter about things. Sam might be mad about how things have gone with Ian, but he doesn't seem to outright hate Ian as a person, Sam just hates the things Ian has done. It's almost as if Sam expects better from Ian, but understands that our expectations of a person, is not always indicative of the the actions that people make. I think that that's a good perspective to have, and I wish that more people took on that sort of role. To expect a lot out of people, but not to hold bitterness or hatred towards people who fail to live up to expectations.

He was borderline insulting of the creators that are on the platform now and pretty stand-offish for the interviews. Rightfully so, I'd say. I get Sam's schtick is to be rather outlandish and unpredictable, but I genuinely don't think he would have posed any threat or would have been disruptive to the show.
