That's awesome- only thing that I would need to do, since I don't have a hydraulic lift table, is weld 4 legs onto the square tubing on the underside of the table, then I'd be set. Maybe even tack a piece of quarter inch to one of the legs for my work lead to clamp to so that it's out of the way. That template for the holes in the table is very smart- good job.

Nice one👍🏻👍🏻 Looking exactly like what I did for my 6' x 3' table. Time consuming but well worth it. I did exactly the same with the initial line lay out as well. Once I had the jig set properly, I didn't need the lines, but was nice to have. 96 holes and the annular cutter was just fine. Have had fun making various Clamps. The best one I did, I think, was converting a large Vice Grip into a 5/8" pin grip. Works great. This was so Déjà Vu. Great job Brandon👍🏻👍🏻 🤣🤣🤣Brain Freeze with the 1/8" What I've done with the F Clamps is take a cut off wheel to the top of the bolt and cut a good size groove in the head and then place the clamp into the groove. Makes it so much stronger. Broke the first couple when I didn't do that.
@BrandonLund4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I am super happy how this came out. Now I just need to keep making a few different assessories to make fit up even faster. Those annular cutters last and last. Not many people know this but you can send them out and get them sharpened :)

My weld table is 3/8×24×36. Its not flat! Up to 0.040 low in middle and a bit more on one long edge. I had forgotten about that until today when i started laying out scribe lines to do what this video depicts. The plate was pre cut when I got it and i never checked it for flatness, just assumed it would be. Brought it home (several years ago), added legs, etc. If im going to make a fixture table I want to start with a flat sheet. So, I'll likely get a piece cut. 1/2" is $40 bucks more than 3/8" for the 2x4 ft size so might bump up to 1/2 and this time check it for flatness!
@BrandonLund11 ай бұрын

Prior to my HA, I was looking at the same thing but using ½" aluminium as the base to ensure I wouldn't accidentally weld the job to the table. This would sit on top of my 30 year old "WorkMate" bench, yeah, still going strong, but every now & then a job (er, practice piece) would get welded to it 😂😂. Great video Brandon. Can I give you few ideas? All those kind of tables I've seen here in Europe have 2 different hole patterns ,one is 16 to 18mm in your case ⅝" , and another one right in the middle 10mm threaded holes in your case I believe ⅜" . This would allow you to use machinist clamps to be able to clamp down your work even if there's no space for the clamp . Another thing that might be useful is a couple of squares , something to clamp stuff perfectly perpendicular to your surface. Another thing not related to your fabrication table but useful as well Spreading clamps , just a reverse F clamp . Other than that , I can't wait for your next video . Have a nice weekend
