The 55 is such a good motor.. never seen a short leg/short shaft like this. Pretty cool

I actually have a better one. This one was supposed to be for parts. Those videos will come soon enough.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. Can you tell me what the required battery (AH) is needed for this particular outboard? Thanks

Hey bud love the videos!!! I have a 88 48spl evinrude. Both cylinders are at 125psi even...is that a good compression or too low? Thank you in advance

Without going to far down the rabbit hole could you describe what is the difference between the 50hp E50BEL CNR (1982) and 55hp version of this engine? I could see no external differences.

If you wanted to buy this motor as a parts motor? What would likely have to pay range?
@BrandonsGarage4 жыл бұрын
Well, depends on where you live. In an area like Tuscon, AZ where your hours away from a large body of water, boats are a little more scarce; thus the value of an engine is decently higher. In an area will lakes everywhere, outboards are more plentiful and thus a bit cheaper. At the time, this engine was $110, given the condition, that was about right.

wellll id kinda like to know how you take off all the wiring harness and still get spark-i know how to jump the solenoid but not what to connect to get fire=ie hot wire an outboard-on the old points engines-car and trucks- you just ran a wire from positive baterry side to the positive of the coil-somebody school me-
@BrandonsGarage5 жыл бұрын
Its all self contained, harness is there to activate the starter solenoid, choke/primer, temp sender, and stop circuit. The engine will operate just fine without it. Flywheel is turning, spark is generating.

Hi I want to start by thanking you for good videos. Why do you weigh the engines?
@BrandonsGarage7 жыл бұрын
Do you know what your engine weighs?

Will you please make this a project motor and not a parts motor. A 55 short isn't common.

Didnt see the next video? Back to the drawing board on this thing.
