A few things: 1) This isn't an Overview of what the Pod4 is. I figured by now pretty much everyone knows what the Eight Sleep is. It heats and cools your bed both sides independently. Plus I wanted to take a different approach then most people would on the platform. I have a ton of videos on these types of devices and I've got them linked in the description. 2) This was a comparison to Pod3 and not a review but I'm going to do a very lengthy review of this Pod later on. So if there are questions you have please let me know in this thread!

I don’t either on the subscription thing… that’s not true, it’s called reoccurring revenue, otherwise their ROI substantially decreases. The problem, which I’ve told them many many times, is it feels like a massive nickle and dime to their customer base. The unit itself is incredibly valuable if you value your health, but they need to do a better job of pricing, pricing structure and total value to a customer that’s paying the subscription on top of the premium price of the unit.

I asked them if filters for the pod 4 were free with autopilot membership. They confirmed yes they were and would automatically send you one ever 6 months. I then asked them what happens when you cancel your membership how much are the filters direct from them at that time. They came back and said they currently dont sell the filters with out an autopilot membership. Wait what??> A necessary maintenance item cant be purchased but you allow people to cancel their autopilot membership? I was so mad when I got the email today about the Pod 4 because I bought the Pod 3 two months ago, and paid MORE $$. But this is the most comprehensive review that helped me understand the trade-offs. Unlike many reviewing the Queen/King versions, living in a small 500sq foot space, the trade offs for the Full are not worth it. Though it's 2x cooling (which is essential when it gets +30°C/86°F in my bedroom), the bigger unit takes too much space, and the touch pad realistically needs a small visual display to be of any value (like perhaps a small imbedded hybrid EightSleep dimmable alarm clock/remote control instead). No one wants to be blindingly tapping their bed half-asleep in the middle of the night.

The taller and bigger Doc is NOT an improvement. Not everyone has a huge bedroom and for me there is NO place for me to put the unit that I will not trip over. Pod 3 is already to large to fit under the bed. The newly designed cover is definitely an improvement. Especially since there are many mattresses these days that still need to be rotated and taking the Pod 3 on and off multiple times a year is a pain in the ass. 8 Sleep still has not addressed the REQUIRED APP SUBSCRIPTION. That is a BIG issue and I cannot afford the additional monthly subscription fee. It should be OPTIONAL. 8 Sleep should consider making a BASIC, No Frills, Non-high Tech Quality Sleep solution. I think they would sell a lot since not EVERYONE wants or needs all those high tech features. Since SleepMe has shitty service and support, and 8 Sleep is far to expensive and large, this leaves me withOUT any cooling solution. So very SAD!!!
