No one wants to, but everyone falls. It's important to be ready for it!
Learning how to fall is EXTREMELY important when riding BMX!
In this video I talk about some things to learn and be aware of as a beginner riding BMX so that when the falls do happen, you can be ready to lessen the severity of them. Hopefully this video can help you ride longer and harder with less injury and if it does, let me know!!
Thank you for choosing to spend your time watching one of my videos!

Im glad you made a video about crashing. No one else really tackles it but its the most common thing that happens when you learn new tricks. Being prepared and wearing a helmet at least a helmet is something that can only help you. I feel much safer and more confident when wearing a helmet, and more confident leads to better results.

I realized that I should’ve added something about safety gear in here as well
@sole__doubt

@@Brant_Moore Make a video about the different safety gear available, it could only help especially the younger riders who may look at safety gear as uncool or not necessary. Wearing a helmet is what really opened up a new world of possibilities to me and I wish I'd started wearing one sooner. :)

This was what I needed to hear, as I'm just getting into BMX coming from a MTB background...thanks! I'm walking into it and progressing a little more each time I go ride. Getting to the point that I need to invest in decent pads if I want to keep raising the bar. #firstworldproblems

Man.. Best advice ever! All KZbin videos from bmx riders, they teach the tricks but for them (you) it's easy....like fly over the coping. But in reality it's very hard! Seems easy but it's not. This video it's the only one who really teach correctly the progress for beginners, because like you say, we have to know our limits! And the first step is learning that! Thanks man, huge hug from Lisbon, Portugal. Ps: I'm a beginner with 44 😅😅

This video actually calmed me down .the last point is i think the most important one for me, I’m a 21 years old girl, autistic / adhd , and I’ve always loved riding bikes, never had the chance to buy one though. For 8 years . . 6 months ago i finally got my first bmx bike and i can’t describe the feeling, and I’m aware of my physical limitations , and my nervous systems difference… being friends with a great bmx rider in town , he was always cheering me up and telling me i could do this , that … and when i said nope i know it’s too soon to do so , he would tell me I’m just not committed, and i was like hey i know I’m gonna bail bad and i know my bones are fragile… i was riding like a mad girl by then , then poof i bailed so bad and and i could not say what was wrong with me . Rn it’s been two months i can’t ride , i have broken fingers and so much more … i didn’t treat it well cause i can’t feel pain (autism) right away, now I’m dealing with inflammation in my joints … so I’m telling this to neurodivergent people out there to respect your own limits, even if others think you can do it but you feel like it’s too soon for you , don’t get that gut feeling wrong or push it back nor even quit riding, just bc you feel like you learn slowly or anything. I’m just focusing on healing my joints and bones as soon as possible to ride again… no matter how slow i learn , the inly thing that feels right is just enjoying my ride …. Since then i have been working on believing in my knowing my limits and not doubting them at all .

Great vid man. I'm 35 been back riding 6 months and working on progression this time. Just recovered from a broken elbow after wiping out on a drop in. I'm 99% sure it was down to a wet front tyre but it rocked my confidence a bit...sure this'll help, and you deserve way more views, pretty sure I've seen all your videos haha. Keep up the great content.

This was a great addition to you're tips playlist! You slowly gotta step out of the comfort zone. You wouldn't dive straight into the deep end of a pool if you just learned how to doggy paddle.

Man thank you for this video. I’ve been skateboarding for over a decade and I used to BMX a tiny bit but am now considering getting back into it. So finding your video I just feel a lot more self confidence and like the way I need to learn is an okay way to learn. Honestly if I had seen this when I was a kid I would’ve had a lot more fun skating and BMXing (though I love skating to death anyway)

Thanks, really good. I'm 45 and really enjoying riding and I have crashed twice, both when I let adrenaline run the show. No, instead I want to be calculated and ride as long as possible. I've broken both collarbones as a kid, no more of that. But I want to keep slowly getting better and enjoying it as long as possible

Exactly right. If you aren't totally comfortable on your bike, you aren't in a position to be doing tricks. I also find that when I'm wearing my helmet I have more confidence to try new tricks. More confidence means better results. :)
