Kukushkin has effective but very strange backhand. It begins like he is going to make a slice.

I have seen it many times. A player just won a tournament then the next tournament is out either in the first or second match. Not sure if the player comes as favorite and underestimate the opponent or simply the motivation dropped a bit after winning a tournament.

This match in the video took place well before the Next Gen. João hasn’t played since winning the title.

True. I'm just rewinding the classics to fill the gaps, Bratislava 2 Ch took place like the end of Oct or sth. In Joao's case, these European indoor season racked up experience (other than the pts needed to qualify) before taking the NextGen soo... 😃

Mikhail Kukushkin moving awfully well and hitting awfully hard and never getting winded for a 36-year-old guy who's never won a meaningful tour stop in his life. Must have just been a great day. *cough*

Do you know how dumb it is to put only the picture of the winner on the thumbnail? You basically ruin the experience.

I'm trying to differentiate revisiting old matches/full match with a match from the present time (I mean that ongoing present time) the way irl tournaments do- (Maybe benchmarking to Slams' accs might or might not be a good idea, after all; although if I find decent handshake pics/screenshots I wouldn't mind that 😁)
