Join us as we travel from Bratislava to Ljubljana by bus in this travel vlog. Our day started early in Bratislava, Slovakia where we give you basically the shortest apartment tour we've ever done. In terms of the price of our AirBnB apartment, we forgot to mention it on the vlog, it came to $49 USD (42 Euros) per night. The listing is below:
AirBNB discount: www.airbnb.ca/...
Our Bratislava AirBnB: www.airbnb.com...
Because we decided to change our travel route a few months ago from the Balkans to Poland, we had to cancel our Flixbus bus ticket meaning we ended up getting credit with them. We used this credit to purchase our ticket from Bratislava to Ljubljana via Vienna. The actual cost of the ticket was $32 USD / 28 Euros per person. The journey ended up being a full day event as we had a stopover in Vienna for a while. We arrived tired and hungry but also excited to be in Ljubljana, Slovenia for the 1st time.

Slovakia to Slovenia bus ride from Bratislava to Vienna to Ljubljana travel vlog video transcript:
Well good morning good morning. It is far too early for me. I think it is maybe six. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Six thirty. We need to leave soon. We really do. So today is a travel day. We're leaving Bratislava and going to Ljubljana via Vienna so we're going to be walking to the bus terminal. Before we go Sam is going to give you the world's fastest apartment tour.
We've made it. 40 minutes early. We've made it so now we're going to get some breakfast.
So what did we find? Sam got us Gatorade. Also we found a little bakery here. And a sandwich. They had some nice looking sweets but I'm just not craving that. Once we get on the bus I'm going back to sleep.
Time to say fare thee well to Bratislava. What did you think? You know what? I really connected with this place. Like we were here for a week. And like just by staying longer I was able to like go to a hockey game. In terms of visiting a lot of people just come on a day trip from Vienna or they're arriving on a riverboat cruise and yeah you could cover a lot of the main attractions in a day but I feel it is definitely more of a weekend type of destination. If you can come for 2 or 3 days. Our favorite was Devin Castle.
Look it is PolskiBus. We had some really good rides with you in Poland.
We made it to Vienna. It is freezing cold in comparison to when we were here a week ago. It is even colder here than in Bratislava isn't it? Seriously this morning. We have a one wait time but our bus should be coming soon and we will continue on to Ljubljana. What is in your hand? Got some juice. Apple juice. Picked up a few snacks that are in my backpack. We'll munch away once we're on the bus warm and toasty.
Snack. We're on a bus. Finally. Continuing the journey. What did you get? These are pretty good for wafer cookies. These are like the when we were in Vienna we saw them all over the place. These are Manner Wien. Neopolitaner and pretzels.
Update. We have arrived a little bit behind schedule and we had no lunch stops. At the hangry stage. Yes. So we're just going to grab some food around the station and that is that. Food.
Food has arrived. It was one of those days where we were like we're going to eat at the first place we find. Haha. Not the healthiest. Coke, pizza and burek. Not Slovenian food but it is the first food we found. We'll get into the local cuisine at some point.
This is how we feel after a day of riding buses. Urgh. We are both super greasy and tired oh my gosh. I need a shower. But where did we leave off? From the bus we walked to our AirBNB. It was a 20 minute walk. Yep. And we checked in, then we went and did some groceries. Honestly, I don't even know why we're tired because I slept on that bus ride so much. Like I slept 80% of the time. We're really excited to be here. First time in Slovenia & Ljubljana. We're going to be exploring the city. We also really want to do a day trip to Lake Bled. We have a lot that we're going to do while we're here after some rest. Saying good bye now.
This is part of our Travel in Slovenia video series showcasing Slovenian food, Slovenian culture and Slovenian cuisine.

Best apartment guide ever! Then again, I may not be as appreciative as I should be for those video segments. I like that Audrey poked the Sam bear with the pretzels and kept the camera on. You two are good sports and real. Traveling all the time has to be just shitty at times and I bet you get sick of each other. I bet its cool most of the time or you wouldn't do it. I will tell you if I was Canadian I would never leave that great country. It is so beautiful! I appreciate your videos and am thankful for them. Cheers!

Thank you! Hahaha...I think we'll do less standalone apartment tours unless it is someplace quite unique. Yeah, being together 24/7 means we know how to push each other's buttons ;) But fortunately we're also good at giving each other space when we need it.

I like seeing these kind of travel days from you guys. And... that pizza looked dang good :D Curious.. how come some videos are in 30fps and some in 60fps? Is that just random.. I don't have a preference either way. Just curious as I said. - Trevor

Thank you! We tend to shoot more 30 and 24 fps clips in low light or night situations and 60 during the day. We've been doing more 120, 150 and 180 fps shots now with our new camera the Panasonic GH5 which has allowed us to do a lot more slow motions stuff :)

Thank you! For shorter rides most definitely. The time you spend going to the airport, checking in, going through security and repeating that process at the next stop ends up taking a lot of time. Also, airports tend to be located far away from the center so you're also spending money just to get there.

Mostar and the capital Sarajevo are both worth visiting. Old parts of the both towns have the most interesting sights. Sarajevo has good historic sights, for example World War I started there. Also has a beer brewing culture, maybe not as good as Czech and German, but still I bet Sam will appreciate it. Oh, and best to start getting used to Borek and barbecued small sausages (Ćevapi), you will be eating a lot of that in Balkan countries. :D

@Audery I'm planning to go to Ljubljana also but there's like super cheap so I might take that trip from Bratislava to Ljubljana but on Google maps there's like 3 routes the shortest is the one passing by Vienna and it says it will take 4 hours ! So why it took like a whole day with you guys ? Is that normal ?
@samuelandaudrey

The reason it took longer for us was we had to wait in Vienna for a while to catch the next bus. It wasn't direct from Bratislava.

Good things happen to people who do high quality work and especially if they are young with time for opportunities to develop. You certainly quality on both counts. I follow you on my full blown and mostly fully immersive 3D VR system as well. Now with the incorporation of all 3 BILLION of Google's complete 360x360 image library inside the HMD (head mounted display), I also get inside of almost every place you visit as well to look around naturally. I just never get to taste that wonderful food. BTW - The huge pork tenderloin is what central Indiana is known for. And they think they are the only one's in the world that have it. Another BTW - While Bratiskava was not in photogrammetry produced 3D imagery, Ljubljana is. But I did enjoy Bratiskava just on the 2D 360x360 imagery alone. I ran along the river too ! Slovakia has yet to allow the complex process of photogrammetry produced 3D imagery to be taken anywhere in their country. And the incorporation of the use of Lidar laser produced photogrammetry is going to only eventually make this beyond extraordinary over time. When flying around in full 3D VR, you really do feel like you are in your own private helicopter. And I just love cable car rides, ski lifts, and cog wheel trains in VR. Don't miss the little one at Ljubljana Castle.

This is just a little tip - Part of the reason you are tired is due to all of the extremely difficult to digest as well as acid forming food and snacks you were eating - (although I'm sure they tasted good). That kind of food takes a LOT more energy from your body to break down and provides precious little nutrition of value if any at all - including the Gatorade which is highly acid forming. So I'm not surprised you were tired. Believe it or not, you'd have been better off eating nothing and just drinking water because at least it wouldn't be robbing you of energy. Next time, when you need energy, try bringing along raw fruit or raw fruit-like vegetables (with seeds) which when eaten will very quickly be digested and be available to energize your body's cells. You'll feel energized - not tired. Here's what we all need to understand about the truth about the food we should be eating which is contrary to the propaganda we've all grown up with. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYuxZHt9nrhnsNk
