ALSO for all the zinesters out there, I bought a wooden drawing board/easel at five below and I use it for EVERY zine fest as a display for my zines!

I love how we all say "you can do this or use that for zines" and in the end it's "or you can do whatever the f you want" because art is so personal and subjective 😂❤

I have a second hand craft store in my town and it’s the best, it has any art supplies and also weird objects / trash. It’s super cheap I just got a big pile of paper, vintage magazines, stickers and some miniatures for $10

Using coloring books for your zines is such a great idea. Idk how I never thought of that, thank you!

Thank you for your supplies+++ information. Again, you really are the one who has spiked my interest in zine making. I have been doing art forever and really enjoy making zines. Such a medium for expanding, really stretching one's ideas and blocks, about what making art is all about. I am in the give away zine club. I appreciate your generosity in sharing all the information you do. And I really enjoy you and your videos. Scissor on!

Hi, Loved this as a super new artist. In Ireland there is no five below or 5B , we have Euro Giant, Dealz or Mr Price. Same type of value store as 5B. Me and my daughter love exploring them as you will often find amazing art and craft supplies and items that are at a price that you can't ignore. The quality is there to be found !! You thought me what a Zine is. Never heard of it. Me and my little lady are going to start !!!

Re: sticker anxiety, have you got a reusable sticker book? They’re books that have like sticker paper quality that you can stick your favorite stickers on and save them for later without having to keep a full sheet.

Have you ever been to a liquidation store? They take all of the previous season items from a bunch of stores and sell them at ridiculously low prices. The one I go to sells everything by weight, and it's like $1-2 a pound depending on the day. Each one is different, but most have crafting supplies and other things you can use in zines. The last time I went they had a bunch of items from Five Below and Target that were normally $5-10 each that I got for less than $4. I love liquidation stores so much. They're pretty much the last stop before items end up in a landfill. So not only do you get things at a great price, but you also get to help prevent waste.
@brattyxbre9 күн бұрын
Yeah, I have! Liquidation stores are awesome. Also “junk” stores, like there’s this place called SCRAP that sells trash/reused craft supplies that other artists donate and things are like 25 cents and up. Those kinda stores are just not as accessible to me bc they’re far, but I love em!!

My sister works by a five below, so she OFTEN goes in there. 😅 Thanks for all the ideas! I have to keep an eye out for a trash bin. ☆

Y’all could always go to the Dollar Tree - stickers, rub on transfer images, coloring books , magazines, recipe books , snacks (and use the packaging for your zine stash), stamps, paint and more - all for about a buck each ❤ hey I just had an idea 💡 maybe a zine making party or get together to share supplies ?? 🤯🤩

Thanks so much for this video. I've only gone to to Five Below once in my life and that was years ago. But budget is tight these days and I should consider going there again for shopping more often. Especially with a small kid, she would LOVE those stickers and coloring books.

Hi Bre! 💗 If you haven't already, could you make a video about how you organise your zine-making supplies? I'm struggling so hard with boxes of stuff and thinking while I make a zine, 'oh I have the perfect paper/sticker/stamp/etc. for this!' but then I can't find it! I don't even have that much stuff but I'm suffering XD

I found your channel by accident but.. I have one problem with zines. Some people can print DRAWINGS of other artists without their permission and sell them... it's really bad :( people shouldn't steal from living artists! maybe mention the public domain in the vid? it's a site where you can use graphics of artists who died e.g. 100 years ago that don't have copyrights is free!! and beautiful tbh (you can legally sell things with these arts!!)
