The de-calcifying steps seem pretty complicated, and when I pressed "clean"in error I found myself completely blocked with a blinking on-off and display of "14" in the drip-stop position, and blinking "clean" in the coffee position, but nothing happens and no button seems to help me out of this block! Ideas?

If you have the water tank full and you want 8 ounces of coffee, wanna just make 8 ounces of coffee and leave the remaining water in the tank that’s what should operate

The hot water function bypasses the coffee hopper so your hot water never has the "old coffee" taste. It's actually kinda of genius, but whatevs.

IKR, I want the option to brew a pot or just a cup 5oz is good for me, if I brew 8 or 10 it gets cold too fast. He seems very disappointed with the coffee maker even before seeing it. He could be a coffee snob idk

I’m finding that the basket, whether using paper or provided filter is way to small. Using ratio of 1:18, and shower head is consistently coming in contact with rising grounds. Using 80 grand of coffee for 50 oz full pot. Anyone else struggling with this???

Absolutely. Using a paper filter helps a bit, but using their recommended amount of coffee for a full pot has us constantly wiping grounds off the top. We also have an issue with the carafe dripping from the outside of the upper plastic sleeve - more so when the carafe is closer to empty!?! We are on our 2nd carafe now and are forced to pour over the sink... grounds for frustration

First cup tasted like shit. Do not bypass the soaking of the filter. Second time through was great though.

Unlikely as it has a warming plate. Usually they would develop a different model without the plate for safety reasons

I like this brewer, especially the metered water from the reservoir based on cup size. Though I know this will produce a "single serve" portion, is there a comparable brewer with the metered reservoir that also accepts K-Cups?

I apologize if this has been mentioned already, I just received this Braun multiserve KF 9170 for birthday/Christmas gift and as I’m reading the instructions. It mentions water hardness and altitude settings. What you recommend and is there a difference?

set the altitude to what you house is at then spend the next 4 days trying to get past error 21 with no help online no help from the company and me apparently being the only one with the error i love my new paperweight matches my other coffee maker than doens't work at least it's a brand new shiny paperweight tho :)

Yes you can. The amount of water released is based on your oz selection and not how much water is in the reservoir

Two questions: 1.) When brewing a single cup does it steep the water in the grounds before releasing ? I know breville does this and it's generally it's a good feature since otherwise the grounds don't have enough time. 2.) Is the hotplate nonstick/teflon?

It will pre infuse and slow down on the Gold Cup setting. The hotplate is non stick

It does. I have the model without the hot water feature. The only thing I would like to see changed is the cone shaped filter. I like the flat bottom filter better. I think they over al,l saturate the grounds more evenly during the brewing process. It still makes a great cup of coffee.

One of the worst coffee makers you can buy. I bought one and the touch pad buttons stopped working after 2 months and Braun wouldn't stand behind their product. Just stick with a reputable brand of coffee maker that values their customers and produces a quality product.

A lot of variables into a good taste including beans, grind, amount used, water etc....these do a great job but check out the Moccamaster/zwilling video we just did.

The new Ninja dual pro is the best!!!! It cost more about $199 you get hit water from it to cook oatmeal or tea or anything else. The best you can brew a hole pot or few oz and & has K cups to brew coffee ☕️ is awesome the display light is so beautiful.

Bluesocks 11 I returned it. I was not happy with the taste of the coffee or the single serve which does not have a strong setting on it. Best tasting, hottest coffee is still with a French press or a Fellows device.

depends on if u get the one that works or if u get the one that you have to fight to get to work never does and they no help from customer service or anywhere on the net. i mean weight wise it's kinda hefty enought to hold down papers on the table or counter u can set stuff ontop of it has lights that shine and beep at u for days this one tho brand new out of the box dont expect it to make you coffee lol it wont at all wont do anything but beeeeeeeeep

the red light only stays on for half carafe and full carafe pots. I have the model with out the hot water feature, but rest is the same.

Does it stop brewing once it makes the desired amount you set on the dial (i.e. 8 oz, full pot etc.), or when it empties the water reservoir? In other words, can I fill the water reservoir, and then turn the dial to 8 oz cup size, and then it will stop brewing after 8 oz? Or do you have to fill the reservoir to the exact amount of coffee you wish to brew?

You have to fill to the desired level...we wish we could have it stop even if full.

Jono Halpern I am not sure why he gave you false information but I just tested this. You can fill the water reservoir to 50 Oz and set your desired brew OZ on the dial and it WILL stop.

the coffee in the carafe will always be a lower temperature then the water coming from the shower head when brewing. Remember the coffee grounds, filter, and brewing basket even the carafe will absorb and lower the temperature while brewing. It still make a great cup of coffee.
