Fun facts: -Cheetah's are extremely timid and are filled with anxiety so they sometimes have service dogs as emotional support -Due to the fact they can purr both ways, they are technically a lesser cat -They chirp...like a bird. It's hecking adorable -While they are the fastest land animal (reaching iirc 88mph) they can only do it in bursts and not often in between each burst

Another fun fact is that there are Asiatic Cheetahs. These cheetahs now have a population of around 50. Their range used to extend into India and parts of southern China. They have since been hunted to extinction in most of their range and are now confined to a small area of Iran. Also, Cheetahs have a top speed of 61 mph, not 88 mph.

RhettyforFun their claws are somewhat comparable to dog's claws. In terms of toughness and not retracting that is. The reason they can go so fast isn't all because of the muscles, they literally stick their claws into the ground to get more out of each step while running. Amazing beasts

Coyote, I kept waiting for you to mention that cheetah’s have a lot in common with domesticated house cats. They purr instead ‘roar’ like lions do...in fact, if they purr they don’t roar & visa versa. Also, my little kitty eats her food in ‘gulps’ or whole bites like Monty, then her stomach does all the digestive work. That’s why house cats tend to ‘graze’ instead of eating one HUGE meal at a time. Just thought you’d like to know.

I don't think there's a any recorded instance of a cheetah eating an adult human. While they are wild animals and can be dangerous, cheetahs are the most docile big cats in the world. They've been held as a pet by ancient Egyptians and Medieval nobles. They were even used to hunt deer. They like hunting, but it will give it's prey away to nearly all other predators. It simply isn't big and strong enough to defend it, and it can't afford to lose a fight.
