Ive had my foot covered in fire ants before. I felt something tingling on my foot. Looked down and it was completely covered. They covered my foot much faster than in this video. They attacked at once. Felt like my foot was literally on fire for a bit. Interesting to see Coyote going through the same.

They are called fire ants for a reason, if you dont mind answering this question, how long did the burning sting last?

I've accidentally gotten a foot into a nest before, too, and it sucked! The initial attack stung, for sure, but the worst part (to me, anyway) is the constant itching afterward.

I remember going into the forest and sticking my hand in a nest of... carpenter ants, i believe? They're the weirdest ants, if you get close to the nest, they sit on their back legs and spray acid at you. It doesn't hurt too bad, but the bite is REALLY painful. Maybe not as painful as harvester ants lol. I actually used to think they were fire ants, because they have red bodies and heads, and the sting burns like crazy.
@QuietWind012 жыл бұрын
Honestly, probably formica ants. Formica ants are the ones that are super aggressive with spraying formic acid.
@haachamachama72 жыл бұрын
@@QuietWind01 Oh, you're probably right. I just looked them up and it's probably the ant i saw. I heard Carpenter ants can spray acid too, but Formica ants look more like the ones I found in the forests of Alberta, Canada lol
@QuietWind012 жыл бұрын
@@haachamachama7 Definitely! Actually, TONS of species of ants can spray formic acid! But especially being that you're from Alberta, Canada, where Formica is very very common, (some of the most aggressive species of formica, too), I'd say that's probably what it was. :)
@haachamachama72 жыл бұрын
@@QuietWind01 Huh, I learned something new today. Thanks for letting me know!
@QuietWind012 жыл бұрын
@@haachamachama7 Of course! I love ants, and I keep many different species, so spreading knowledge of them is always fun for me. Speaking of which, I personally keep harvester ants as pets myself (I keep the species pogonomyrmex occidentalis) and they're super fun to keep/watch. Very aggressive too. Luckily, they can't climb glass, so you don't need an active escape barrier. I can leave the lid off their outworld and not worry about escapees. I try to avoid it though because wild ants could always break in.

OMG I recently discovered small black ants in the faucet in my bathroom. When I turn on the hot water the ants come running out and take refuge until I close the hot water or turn on the cold water. I am an old US Army Vietnam vet and I met some hard charging ants in Vietnam. One night I awoke to feeling some ants crawling over and across my body while I was laying down on my back. the were crawling over and to an empty can I had discarded . I jumped up and brushed of the remaining ants and turned on my flash lite to witness this sight. Lucky for me there weren't any enemy soldiers in my immediate area. In the morning I discovered we were set up in the immediate area of an huge ant hill and the ants were just finished returning to the hill from that empty can I had discarded. Now I am now in a contest with the black ants in my bath room . My wife simply smashed them with TP but the were replaced them with others. I don't want to spray chemicals on top of the sink. THE ANT WAR CONTINUES.
