Anesthesia is a powerful drug that also is a major risk factor. We live in a culture that downplays the seriousness of all surgeries and medications so people don’t do all the research they should before going under the knife.

I assumed there wasn’t a tribute at the end of an episode soon after Brayden Smith’s passing because the Jeopardy show-runners didn’t know yet what were the circumstances surrounding it. But Smith’s family revealed the cause a little over a week after it happened which was three months ago. By then, you would think it would have been okay with Smith’s family for Jeopardy to give at least a simple tribute. Having a charity set up in Brayden Smith’s name by the time Jeopardy did do a tribute is nice and it adds resonance to his passing. But it still feels a bit awkward that it took this long to just mention that Smith passed away.

@@hindsightpov4218 you have to remember the episodes are taped three months in advance so if do our maths correctly, they taped the ToC a few weeks after he died so while it seems long from our point of view, they actually did the tribute soon after his death. Could they add a small tribute before that, sure but they probably thought it was more deserving of and relevant to the ToC.
