Brazilian Line - A new route big wall rock climbing adventure in Brazil

In 2018 I joined four British climbers on a new route mission to Brazil and I made this film. It was screened at the Best of Kendal in the same year and has since gone on to play to sell out venues on the Brit Rock film tour as well as mountain festivals around the world.

Lead by pioneering legend Mike ‘Twid’ Turner accompanied by Steve Long who invite some youth on the trip in the form of the super strong James Taylor and Angus Kille (just climbed Indian Face!). Those magnificent runnels - untold centuries of rainy seasons. RE:Wasps: One bright day, on a minor summit block, slapping the final hand, i watched an irate hymenopteran take exception to my intrusion. Either calm descends in a precipitate manner, or body does same. The Wolf looks up quizzically, i wave my hand to him, as it quickly grows into a Mickey Mouse cartoon for three days. Another traverse, far elsewhere: lush brush covers the presence of those famous "meat bees" so dubbed by Yosemite Mountain Rescue guys bc they had to dispute the meat of fallen climbers withyonder hornet bands. This time, Wolf looks down, bemused at the fact that i was laughing, falling, waving every available limb to prevent a hundred stings. "The Universe is Composed of Delight" says the Upanishad. No mention by the ancient sages of the exact Composition of that particular form of Glee. Wolf raises eyebrows: "With what barbarian boys do i share vertiginous raptures? What's joy? What's pain?" Thank you for the big ride.

This is a very entertaining video Watching from my sofa is as close as I will ever come to climbing such beastly rock I'm more a "Free Solo Hiker" that's about it Sometimes I feel a bit sad that I do not have the nerve to push myself into believing that I have what it takes to climb Tho Im certain that I do not and could never be persuaded to believe otherwise Even Roped in and secured with back ups for the back ups and more back ups still bring me zero comfort Our male & female Climbers truly are amazing creatures Im in complete awe of these folks Climbing at this level is an incredible gift of achievement And watching folks who Free solo is just beyond believe at times Alex Honnold & Emily Harrington are two of my favs to watch I follow as much as I can via online info I was introduced to "slacklining" recently and it as well is truly amazing Spencer Seabrooke who now holds the world record for free solo slacklining is an amazing dude Thanks for making & sharing this incredible video

Awesome, you should try to climb Maria Comprida in Petrópolis, it has a 1000m vertical wall that has only been climbed twice. It is an amazing mountain

30:08 he is discussing the chance of making a mistake after 30 years of climbing. While it is true that the chance of making an error over a 30-year career is higher than say over a one year career, the notion that you are due for an error is not statistically sound (and he didn’t say it those terms, so I don’t want to straw man here). If anything, conditioned that you have had a 30-year accident free career, the chance of making a mistake in the 31st year is much lower than say in your very first year, because of the increased experience.

how many pitches of this routes and what's the hardest grade? great adventure

In the end, 18 pitches were free climbed, including the crux runnel pitch, establishing "Runnel Vision" (8a/A0) 800m. The team spent several nights on the summit and redpointed some pitches on the descent.
