My Linda passed away on march 1st 2017 after a year of us fighting brain cancer, after 46 years of loving each other thru good times and bad, in the last year we spoke through each other mostly with eye contact, holding hands and being with each other pretty much all the time, she always took care of everyone first in her life and sacrificed her wants and needs for others, we had 6 beautiful children together and to this I can say I am the luckiest man on earth and never deserved her, I have a piece of me gone I know will never be filled, this was our song in high school.

The year this song came out, I just returned into the arms of my young bride after 1 year away in SE Asia. So it had a special meaning for us. Songs like this will help form a person's personality and soul. If you are young and not listening to heartfelt and soulful music, you are missing out on a sweet part of life. There is a shortage of meaningful music today, but you can find it by just turning the time dial back here on KZbin to the 1950's thru 1980's. You will find something special.
@thankyousgod Жыл бұрын
I appreciated your comment very much, but just wanted to very respectfully disagree with your statement of a shortage of meaningful music today. The human condition remains forever, and I think because of that meaningful music will never stop being made. I would just recommend you to listen to Self Control or White Ferrari by Frank Ocean and tell me that doesn't make you feel some way... With that being said, many peace and blessings be upon you. I think one day when I get older and reflect on songs of my youth, I will likely feel the same way as you. I actually heard this Bread song for the first time in my life yesterday while I was hanging out with my parents. It popped up on shuffle, and my dad immediately knew it and told me all about the band. Just goes to show, even though this song was made 50+ years ago, music can live on forever and continue to create new and fresh memories for everyone.

Born in 1979, but a fan of all genres of music. Gotta admit, this is one of my favorite songs of that era.

This song reminds me of my mom who passed from cancer this past June. Mom would have the radio on in the car when I was a kid and this song would play. Sweet old days!❤

only 21 but i enjoy all 60s, 70s and 80s music. Just ordered Fleetwood macs greatest hits, The very best of Electric Light Orchestra, and will be picking up a bread album. Withs tons of others like foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straights, Ambrosia, to many to try and name really but you get the point. Wish they could make music as great and meaningful as it once was.

u are so right , my daughter loves the music of the 60's and 70's although she is little older than u. they just dont make the kind of music i grew up on, chilities , stylistics, bread, lobo, and so many more, i miss those days

Thank you very much! I always use to joke with my dad growing up how I wanted to open up a classic oldies roller disco, with only oldies music played, have costumes and wigs rented and make it just like in the 70s.

The music was great back then and all the bands knew how to play their instruments. In a mellow mood, I like to hear great bands like America, Bread, Fleetwood Mac. It seems to me that bands like this could convey a message without all the moaning and groaning that you hear in some of the modern stuff.

The most beautiful music. Sums up the magical era of my very young life. Nothing, and I mean nothing can make me feel so safe and happy at the same time.Perfection.

Bread made the 70's with real music and lyrics. Nothing offensive like today's so called music. We could actually sing this music to the one we loved. What an era.

Metallica/ACDC fan. I can listen to this and appreciate how incredible Gates voice is. As much as I love and play hard rock Its good to listen to a real talent like this.

The soft and pillowy 'Make It With You', helped usher in the soft-rock genre. It's a funny thing about ’70s pop that even as the music became safer and less threatening, it also got a whole lot more frank about sex.

Epic song, reminds me of days long ago with my family when I was five. Only my mum left and a brother from those days and the rest are gone. Time can be a bummer RIP Dad, grandparents, uncles and aunts plus quite a few friends.

Hey, have you ever tried Really reaching out for the other side? I may be climbing on rainbows But baby, here goes Dreams, they're for those who sleep Life is for us to keep And if you're wondering what this song is leading to I want to make it with you I really think that we could make it, girl No, you don't know me well In every little thing only time will tell But you believe the things that I do And we'll see it through Life can be short or long Love can be right or wrong And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through I'd like to make it with you I really think that we could make it, girl Baby, you know that dreams, they're for those who sleep Life, it's for us to keep And if I chose the one I'd like to help me through I'd like to make it with you I really think that we could make it, girl

I don’t know why these guys aren’t in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This is a disgrace since all these rappers are being inducted. These guys invented soft rock.
@emptylikebox11 ай бұрын
It's definitely an injustice. Still wondering why they are not inducted yet.
@snoops558111 ай бұрын
@@emptylikebox I wish they would before David Gates leaves us. I think he is the only one left. I don’t know why they put every other genres of music that is not anything like rock but not a group that was a pioneer in soft FM radio rock. R&RHOF has become a joke.
