Hello from Canada. Found your videos a couple of weeks ago and have been watching everything I can find. Your philosophy on wheat makes so much sense to me. Awaiting delivery of my grain mill but using my vitamix in the meantime and can't believe the difference in the taste of bread made with freshly ground grains. I truly believe this is an important step in my journey to better health. Thank you for doing what you do and God Bless!!

I adore the flavors! Husband brought home "Do not eat the bread of idleness in late 1999. We have come a long way! You kept us healthy! Blessings and Re Jouir -Darlene

Sue I loved seeing you again talking about grains and health! I was one of those moms who loved seeing you and your family at homeschool conferences from 1994 when we moved to Woodstock. You inspired me to mill and bake my own bread - which I did for years! I bought a grain mill, mixer and 100s of pounds of grains and other products from you! Currently since my husband and I are retired to Gulf Shores, AL I still come to your store any time I can when we’re visiting Woodstock. I want to make my own Ezekiel bread (I have one of your mixes from my last visit!). You’re reminding me to look for your recipe in your red cookbook which I have treasured for years! Thank you!

I just made your corn muffins with cheese for the first time. I have recently started milling everything. Those were the best corn muffins I have ever eaten. They actually taste like cornbread. I’m glad no flour is added because that takes away from the corn taste I think.

Hello from California. I love your you Tube Chanel. I just found you last night and I’m obsessed. I wanted to ask you if you are familiar with cracked wheat? We call it burgal. Is it a good wheat. We use it in ground meats, lentils and salads. We wash it first and then soak it in warm water for 30 minutes. We fluff it with a fork and add it to our meal.
@BreadBeckers
@BreadBeckers 3 күн бұрын
Hello. The only way that cracked wheat would still be nutritious is if you cracked it yourself just before cooking and consuming it. Once the shell, or outer layer of the grain is broken, oxidation immediately begins to take place, and within 24 hours almost half of the nutrients have oxidized, and within 3 days, 90% of the nutrients are gone. So, you can see that if you are purchasing this, already cracked, from a store, you are not getting the nutrients the body needs. Hope this helps.

I'm planning on buying the ingredients for the Ezekiel mix separately and mixing my own large amount to be able to mill that into the amounts that I need for things like cookies and brownies, etc. Is there a specific way that you recommend for actually mixing those ingredients to keep them well mixed? I've found with other kinds of mixes with ingredients that vary in size, they often eventually settle and kind of un-mix. I'm planning on storing the mix in a large bucket.
@BreadBeckers
@BreadBeckers Жыл бұрын
Hi. If you are milling the mixture regularly, it should naturally stay mixed just from the stirring of reaching in with a measuring cup and pulling out what you need for milling. Otherwise, a quick stir of ingredients with a clean device would also work. Hope that helps..

Hi! I heard Dr Josh Axe talk about the importance to eat grains germinated instead of in there "dry" form. He said most of the nutrients aren't absorbed by the body if not sprouted previously. Could eating to many grains without sprouting them be damaging for health? Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience!

How many loaves of bread can I expect to get from a 50# bag of wheat berries?
@BreadBeckers
@BreadBeckers 2 жыл бұрын
You can get somewhere around 60 loaves of bread from 50# of wheat. This is assuming that you are not making anything else from the wheat, such as: pancakes, muffins, cakes, cookies, rolls, buns, etc... Does that help?

Sue, I’m new to healthy grains so I’m wondering where does Einkorn fit in these grains?
@BreadBeckers
@BreadBeckers 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tina, Einkorn is going to be in a similar category as Spelt. It has a similar flavor and protein make up so you will treat it the same as Spelt. If converting a recipe that calls for bread flour, hard white wheat flour or hard red wheat flour, you will use about 25% more Einkorn flour that what is called for. Hope this helps. Can I mill this a mock mill kitchen aid attachment?
@BreadBeckers
@BreadBeckers 11 ай бұрын
The Kitchen Aid has not shown ability to keep up with the milling process for long-term use. Also, it will not grind it fine enough for some of the things you will want to bake. The Kitchen Aid motor will overheat and begin to die. The mill that we recommend will last for years. I have used our Wondermill for 20 years now, and it is still going strong.
