Mountain Dew... Origin. Tennessee bottlers Barney and Ally Hartman developed Mountain Dew as a mixer in the 1940s. Soft drinks were sold regionally in the 1930s, and the Hartmans had difficulty in Knoxville obtaining their preferred soda to mix with liquor, preferably whiskey, so the two developed their own.

I would be interested in seeing your approach to security on trips. I realize the risks are not great, but not zero either. I'm sure you have practices related to safety/security on trips, but I don't remember you going into detail on that. Everything from how you park, situational awareness in the back country, etc. You've addressed the tools that are important to you for security, but I would be interested in other ways you approach it that are built into your routines.

One thing I started to do is bring one of those Costco solar powered motion spot lights. I set it up in a way so if someone or an animal walks up to my camp, the lights turn on. That way they get scared off and I'll be able to see if I look outside

You know I’m not sure it’s been a long time since I did any research on Toyotas traction control system but with A-trac it might actually limp out with 3 Wheel Dr. if you pull the stub axle out.

Well, if he’s not carrying a spare axle which I heard a lot of Toyota guys do all he’s got to do is pull the stub shaft put it in rear wheel, drive and drive it to a local auto parts store to get a new axle. It’ll delay, the adventure, but I had to the mystery and intrigue of the stories to come.

Talon according to soda pop distributor lore who I have families who have worked in the industry Mountain Dew as we know it was created in the late 70s by Pepsi-Cola. However, that name has been applied to three separate mixtures of flavors the original being a lemon lime flavor, similar to Sprite or 7-Up, which was indeed used as a mixer. It was only bottled for friends and family of the originators. However, the flavor and the commercial viability other product never caught on and it changed hands a few times before being bought by Pepsi-Cola. Do you have a quick Google? I have found similar information as well so I tend to believe that to be the most accurate info available on the subject.
