-iu is just short for -iou, like -ui is short for -uei.

I started learning Chinese back in 2011. Nice to see you're active on here again. I have Red for 1st tone, Blue for 4th

I'm very happy the channel that got me started in Chinese is active again! Thank you Chris!! I like the fact we r using the same colors 4 the tones :-)

is that just a coincidence? These are the colours that make sense to make personally :-)

I’m suscribed already to two of your course but my favourite is the chinese culture conversations. Even though I speak quite well I want to look at something that can improve my accent for my level. I want to sound like a chinese. Maybe this course is only for beginners.

Glad you're enjoying Chinese Culture Conversations! It's really an intermediate course, not for beginners

Thanks. In my university all people learn to say it like u said in the start. Despite the audiobook and chinese speaker say it like -iou, all students and my local teacher continue to sai like ü. I feel myself very strange, you know... I can understand chinese native speaker but not my local teacher and tongxuemen. Can you also make a video or to say where i can read about -ong final pronunciation? Because sometimes i hear it(for example 中国) like m(oo)n. But in 洪 it is (o)sound.

I've been learning Chinese for 6 months and I'd love if you could tell me some of the textbooks you used and practices for speaking especially regarding tones

It would be most helpful if you would also pronounce these words yourself several times so we can hear your voice speaking each word three or four times.
