This has been one of the hardest episodes we have ever conducted but it is sure to be most impacting.
OVS- office of victim services is the office for victims of crime.. As long as they have a police report filed within 7 days of the crime, even if the person is not arrested, they are entitled to money for loss of wages for up to a year after the crime … even if the crime was 10+ years ago, just have to advocate! and get as much medical documentation as possible!

I asked my mother why she never remarried after divorcing my father or why I never saw men in and out of our home. My mother told me she never remarried or had men in and out of our home because, if she found out a man had molested me, she would have been in jail and I would have been an orphan and had a hard life. My mother has transitioned, but I am thankful her love still lives and sustains me. Mother 's teach your children to tell you everything, no matter what... Tell it!!!

I’m one of 8 girls and my parents never allowed us to spend the night at any sleep overs even at my cousins. They were so over protective of us that we had one side of the house so whenever my brother had friends over or my male cousins they would hangout only in the male living rooms. I never understood that as a kid but now that am a mom I appreciate how overprotective they were of us and how much they kept us safe from ill intentions and the devil. When my sister got divorce my nieces were 7 and 4 years old and she made an oath that she would never bring a man into their safe place. Someone who wasn’t their father. The girls are now college graduation and thriving in life.

I went through this as a child also staying at a relatives house or with babysitters. When my two children were young, I would never allow them to even stay at their cousin house. There were a lot of kids and adults that stayed there. Their cousin side of family always spoke negative of me to my children because I would not allow them to stay over.

I was sexually abused by my first cousin (4 years older) as a child when my father went to prison. Nothing happened before then! Fathers protect their daughters and when my protection left the home, I was assaulted. In my Black family, so many of us share similar stories. My family hides behind religion and denial. I didn’t say anything to my parents because I already knew that they would be devastated as well as angry. I’m so proud of this young lady, she’s so brave. This was such a hard watch. This young lady pointed out a good point, that I often see in many Muslim households with children. Moving in entirely too fast with people you’re just meeting just because you’re “married”. Like the young lady mentioned it’s ok to maintain long distance relationships before blending your families together. Chris this is dropping two🎤🎤's, I was sexually abused as a child and I still suffer as a mother of a 18 year old son (I waited till my son turned 18 to tell him), these predators are master manipulator and they know who to prey on their victims, some of the things that she said are PHOTOCOPIES of what happened to me (the projection, obsession and manipulation), the realty is if people around them are not in denial these predators are not hard to spot because they ALWAYS want to be around their victim.

Some of these men purposely find women with broken family homes. The appeal to the woman’s loneliness and need for affection. The whole time they are predators on the kids. In my opinion this was a totally different and with her going through all this trauma it seems to me she would have taken a while to heal and focus on her and raise her children. I wouldn’t have been thinking about another man with all she say she been through.

@14:55 THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART! I WORK WITH A LOT OF ABUSE VICTIMS, AND THIS IS A COMMIN REASON WHY THEY DONT TELL THEIR MOTHER…. The mothers are confused and don’t understand why their kid didn’t stop it or tell them. It’s really simple…. “THEY DONT WANT TO RUIN THEIR MOTHERS HAPPINESS…” “THEY DONT WANT TO DISRUPT THE FAMILY…” So your child will endure feeling bad or abuse so YOU can be happy and believe a lie. Besides, if their mother is happy and thinks a guy is great, he just be great, right? never let your children see your happiness be affected by the presence of a man. Never let your children believe their feeling are a nuisance to you and not worth the trouble. Another common thing with the abusers. One of the BS excuses they use for WHY they do it is because… They were mad at their wife or the mother about something she did. (It’s BS, but it is a very common excuse) Nevertheless, the best way to Make sure this doesn’t happen is to not move men into your house with your kids. Any man. Your boyfriend, your brother, your uncle. Period. Extra men around your house triples the possibly of this happening. And let me tell you, it only has to happen ONCE to completely destroy your child’s life.

It only looks like her mother is to blame but she only made those mistakes because she was a victim herself and that messes up her thinking, after a person is victimized the way they think is reprogrammed- they don't sense danger and fear like people who were not victims. The mother was in denial, she would be to blame if she didn't believe her daughter and didn't take action because that happens A LOT mothers not believing their daughters after being molested.

Sir, what you have to remember: language is important. You kept referring to the survivor as a "young woman". She was a CHILD when she was violated. Our community has a bad habit of adultifyng children. She was a child not a young woman when she was SA'd. She was barely a woman of 18 y.o. at the time of this interview. Children cannot give consent. Keep in mind that this monster graped a child, not a "young woman".

Alhamdulillah...these are the stories that are not told...and so many many weird others but what bothers me as Muslims we are taught to cover your brothers or sisters sins & not to question Allah..but i truly believe some of these hadith wre taking waaaay out of context and after hearing that statement for th 2nd time at a lecture i asked is there any stipulations on this? The mother is the same lady from the prior story correct? The one about her husband trying to kill her bc she found out he was on the DL. (I believe it was her 1st husband) Like this is heartbreaking. For them to have to endure all of this. My heart goes out to her, her mom and everyone else who was hurt and still hurting . I pray the therapy gives her everything she needs to properly heal❤️

The fact that her mother felt the need to ask her several times makes me feel like she never trusted that man from JUMP…this story has a lot someone could learn from being desperate for a MAN can not only hurt you but your child as well..she literally said that was one of the reasons why she didn’t speak up
