Breakdown my friends! Excellent! I Love my Tom Petty!!!
@barbmillergarcia9 жыл бұрын
The best version of "Breakdown" , I have ever heard. Tom Petty is convincingly sexy in his performance of the song, but it's Mike Campbell's guitar that makes it a home run!
@flumplestiltskin7 жыл бұрын
got something of the JJ Cale about it
@BandMadness6 жыл бұрын
That may be true but play it without the real Tom Petty and its crap .. not many can sing this song like the real Tom but I've heard many guitar players do it same if not better than mike .. so its really all about the vocals Tom Petty had a special quality and that is the key to this tune.

I have been to many live shows in my life, Santana, Elvin Bishop, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Concerts on the Green, Peter Frampton, Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, James Brown, Billy Joel, Elton John, and many more, But The Greatest Live Concert I ever attended was in Sept 1982, I went to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium. They have a lot of popular songs you'll hear on the radio, however their popular songs do not do this band justice. LIVE, they are the Purest, Get Down, Rock and Roll Band I have ever heard, their musicianship is among the best in the world, their Showmanship, and the Love of what they do come across and they interacted with the audience who gave them the Endurance to Go On. They did 5 Encores and were Dripping with Sweat when they finally left the stage Three and a Half Hours after they took the stage to an audience who was still Screaming For More, but they were just simply too exhausted to go on. Rest in Music Tom Petty.

Tom Petty the coolest sexiest dude that ever walked on to the stage .. its all about the voice.. The first time I was introduced to Tom Petty was in 1977 and my friend saw my brothers album and she was the coolest rocker chick I knew at the time.. me only 18. She held up the album with so much excitement it was amazing! She said, This is the coolest dude omg and rolls her eyes and swoons and hugs the album and with both hands and arms holds the album up the sky and worships it .. and says "This is the coolest sexiest dude ever you gotta hear this one!!! OMG!!! He's the only dude that can GRUNT and make it sound good." Its all about the GRUNT .. the Tom Petty Grunt .. She said they ain't another dude that can grunt like this and make it sound sexy. Sounds like crap if anyone else did that!!!!!" and then I just fell in love with him that day! And even jumped of the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium in 78 to see him .. it was sold out and the only way in!!!!!!!!!!! So awesome!!! I wish there was man alive that could grunt the Tom Petty Grunt and not sound like crap!!! lol Tom will always be missed and loved. No one can do it better .. better than all the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!
