It may just be me, but there seems to be a lot of background props/costumes that have the Tiffany blue colour. Like Irving's dress, some of the drinking cups, the spoon used to stir the drinks etcetera. I like how they provide visual clues of Holly's obsession with Tiffany and the signature colour.

That's definitely the kind of stuff that women would get, but men not in a million years. Style and fashion is in women's DNA . It's also different how they react to Audrey Hepburn. Men can't get over her looks. I know that she found it difficult to make friends cause women were so intimidated to be around her. Isn't that ironic, to be cursed by that which brings fame. But she brought that on, she didn't actively pursue stardom, like Maryilin Monroe, but she didn't turn it down either. Unlike Holly Golightly. I bet A.H. felt a kinship to H.G. as only the exceptionally attractive can understand. And I bet she wondered why Holly turned down that screen test. People scoff at the notion of 50 bucks for the powder room. That part is true. There really was a Holly Gollightly, and that's what she did.

I love how in this scene the directors acknowledge that Holly is a fake. How she wears this manic pixie thing like armor.

But don't you think that the people who actually watch this movie still fail to realize that? I feel like this has become such a popcorn movie on a Sunday afternoon. Any intention to make this serious kind of failed even though Hepburn still got an Oscar nod. She's supposed to be a fake, but Audrey Hepburn is already so elegant and charming that you don't even realize she's posing as fake, you just assume she's the elegant woman.
@RuggedElefont
@RuggedElefont 6 жыл бұрын
John Nader for younger audiences she supposed to be an inspiration or a blueprint for the quirky or off beat girl who gets the sensitive guy. What they failed to realize is why she is, who she is. Just like Eartha Kitt her character was damage and she needed a alter ego. So yeah she's fake but only because she was Forced to be a woman at a very young age.

Basically Martin Balsam is saying she's a naive phony because she doesn't know any better than to believe that what she is trying to do is fake, rather than a cynical phony who purposely knows they're being fake and deceitful to get ahead.

I love the way George Peppard moves after leaning on the door frame. He does it as well in the kiss scene after they steal the masks. He's so smooth and elegant in his movements.
